this post brought to you by Ann Taylor
today, i’m pleased to partner with Ann Taylor who has an amazing selection of effortless summer styles. the partnership came at a perfect time as last friday mr. style and i hopped in the car for a weekend getaway and drove to St. Simon’s a lovely island off the coast of Georgia. this is a charming beach community that offers boutique shopping, delectable dining, and miles of sandy beaches. anyone else thinks fresh seafood is undeniably delicious? but what i loved most about this sleepy town are the southern oaks draped in spanish moss that graciously lined the streets. not only do these trees add timeless charm and beauty to the landscape but they are quintessentially southern without speaking a word.
so what came along with me to St. Simon’s? besides my main squeeze? since there were so many wonderful restaurants to choose from i decided to focus on casual evening wear. nothing fancy mind you but all three outfits are casual chic at its finest. and versatile to boot.
this chiffon skirt is a dream to wear. the vibrant color reminds me of a scoop of sorbet. when i pulled it out from the suitcase, it didn’t have even one wrinkle that needed steaming. we should be so lucky in the wrinkle department! this flirty flutter sleeve white linen tee was the perfect partner. it’s light and airy and can be dressed up for an evening out or dressed down for a day at the beach.

another item that didn’t wrinkle in the suitcase was this adorable drawstring skirt from Ann Taylor’s Luxewear collection. this tropical floral skirt with shades of green blue and yellow pairs seamlessly with so many colors it might be hard to choose. today, i went with a lightweight yellow jersey tank with a knit back. it’s a versatile top that goes to the office with ease or a night out on the town. one thing’s for certain; this is a must-have closet staple that comes in five colors. and we all know i never met a denim jacket i didn’t love. the same holds true with this adorable white ruffle denim jacket that’s a trendy take on a wardrobe classic. last but not least is a pair of white sandals that are perfect for a weekend packed with fun.

a mellow yellow dress came along on my trip too. this dress made from soft, stretchy matte jersey is also from the Luxewear collection from Ann Taylor. side ruching gives it an easy and effortless fit. for a little pizazz, i added a gauze scarf that doubles as a belt and striped ribbon sandals for a summery twist. many of us shy away from sleeveless dresses, but there’s an easy solution. simply toss a scarf around your shoulders for extra coverage. or try a lightweight sweater or shrug. an extra layer comes in handy as most indoor establishments blast their air conditioners all summer long.

Know you loved SSI as much as I do. Nothing like crossing that Causeway and feeling the stress fade away. Also, loved the yellow dress!
absolutely enamored with St. Simon’s! and you’re right, all your stress disappears once you head into town.
