it’s fun scouting the city for a photo shoot especially when christmas decorations abound. this time of year is so festive with bright red ribbons and bows scattered in every direction. it truly is the most wonderful time of the year. all we’re missing (or not) is snow! for those of you new to the blog i grew up in the midwest and am quite familiar with snowflakes. i must admit i always loved seeing snow on the ground right up until january 1st. but somehow, the snow kept piling up all through the end of march which is waaayy too long for this girl. although snow and boots, jackets and scarfs would make a lovely backdrop for photos.
today’s ootd is laid-back yet fit for the holidays with black watch plaid velveteen pants. last time i wore this traditional plaid pattern i chose a cobalt blue turtleneck sweater. this time i toned down the look with a black cashmere crewneck and white shirt. black smoking slippers, quilted hobo handbag and navy puffer jacket from last year (similar here) complete this understated outfit that’s perfect for a daytime party or lunch with the girls.

Love this outfit! Very sophisticated and timeless. Absolutely one of my all time favorites! Black Watch plaid is near and dear to my heart.
I now own these lovely pants thanks to your earlier recommendation! However, I am having a tough time with lint on the velveteen…any suggestions? I have tried static guard spray and i still look fuzzy! Trying to remove the lint with a roller or brush is also difficult…itโs like a magnet! Any suggestions?
The pants are cute–they aren’t just for holidays, which I like. Black watch plaid is so timeless. And everything is festive out there–enjoy!
