red might be a scary color choice for many of us. and i’ve heard it said that “red just doesn’t look good on me.” it’s hard to imagine that would be the case as there are over 350 shades of red! but if you are convinced red doesn’t flatter your skin tone why not try a red skirt or pants? today i opted for red pants from Anthropologie last seen here. but how do you wear red without looking like a christmas ornament? well, that’s when i turn to my trusted wardrobe basics and search for a neutral color that will always work. a black cashmere crewneck from Everlane is a perfect choice. and to give this outfit a modern edge, i popped on a leather blazer (similar here) that’s years old. leopard wedges also act as a neutral but add texture and a little oomph. a structured handbag (similar here) keeps this ootd simple yet sophisticated. add a few key accessories, and this outfit is in the books.

That’s a good tip–to keep the red away from the face if you think you don’t look good in red. I happen to love reds, and the pants you have on are a good warm (in painting, read: “cadmium”) red!
My grandfather always used to say, “I love a woman in red!” He was Scottish, and said it with a very heavy accent. He was sweet. Happy Hump Day!
I love red but gave up wearing it years ago. However feeling encouraged by your good self have just ordered on line a red dress ( linen as in Australia) . I think that the neckline may be the key as too close to the face and I look like a beetroot. Have a red coat that I wear to meetings in winter in Melbourne and get lots of compliments . It has a V neck and always paired with Black. So trying the red dress thing with a V Neck. Enjoy your day
