all right gang here’s a rare saturday post to play catch-up from the holidays. and, my site experienced a few technical difficulties the past few days that prevented me from publishing a post. the problem’s pinpointed, patched for the short-term, and my trusty tech team working on a long-term solution. who said running a blog was easy? ‘cuz it’s not. although it may look like a cakewalk depending on your perspective. whenever people ask, “what sort of occupation do you have?” then i answer, “run a blog” it seems their eyes glass over then mumble “sounds like a fun hobby.” if they only knew the late nights i put in and the six a.m. wake-up call every morning to get it all done.
but i love running the blog and the chance to connect with all of you! when you read a blog post, my hope is to add some sort of value to your life whether it be a daily outfit inspiration, a new recipe to try, or my ongoing fitness journey at sixty! in the style blogging world they claim there are two types of bloggers “aspirational” and “real life” i’m certain you all realized i fit into the “real life” category as i share snippets of my daily life instead of jetting off to Morocco (although a trip to Morocco is pretty darn cool). it’s true, i’m a homebody through and through as i’d rather be fluffing a pillow, fiddling with my front porch, or heading to a movie with mr. style any day of the week.
anyhoo, it’s back to business and the year in review! april 2018 kicks off this blog post where fridays with oscar was spent refreshing our porch for spring. this year i bought cute clogs or sloggers to putter around the yard. any mud or dirt that comes my way is simply washed off with a hose. how’s that for practical?
it’s so easy transporting my gardening tools in this handy dandy tote. here’s a close-up of my jazzy sloggers.
you know what they say about april showers. but there’s been rain and more rain in georgia this year. so why not have a yellow slicker similar here on hand to brighten a gloomy day and keep me dry.
it’s safe to say pink is my favorite color. whenever i can i add it into my wardrobe. but my favorite shade of pink is a vibrant hot pink that looks fabulous with navy and black.
may not only brings flowers but all sorts of special occasions like mother’s day, bridal showers, and graduations. this year i was pleased as punch to partner with Macy’s to share these snazzy pearl earrings. mr. style even rustled up breakfast in bed to help me celebrate mother’s day in style.
who can resist cinco de mayo with fresh guacamole, chips, mango salsa, and lobster tacos on the menu? throw in a margarita, and it’s the perfect recipe for a warm sunny friday evening.
a trip to europe was in order in may to celebrate mr. style’s b-day (he turned 66). paris, tuscany, and vienna were the cities penned in on our travel itinerary with guest appearances by two of our kiddos who joined us on different legs of the trip. i shared my europe travel tips and wardrobe capsule that was a BIG hit with you. read the full post here.
hmmm, i think these pink gingham pants were a 2018 favorite! and while laundry isn’t a favorite activity of mine, the show must go on (or at the very least clean clothes)! last june i shared my laundry room updates and a few laundry tips and tricks.
mr. style and i had the chance to zip over to st. simon’s island a sleepy beach town located on the coast of georgia. what a fun weekend getaway that included a photo shoot for my first collaboration with Ann Taylor and visits to yummy restaurants.
june just might be my favorite month as the blush of summer has arrived but not hot temps. those dog days can wait until august, right? a pink pinstripe suit was just what the style dr. ordered for business casual along with a cold glass of iced tea.
stay tuned to tomorrow’s post where we’ll revisit july, august (guess who turned sixy?), and september. happy saturday!
