y’all know how much i love to share date night outfits. after all, this is a tradition that’s been thirty-five years in the making. over the course of our date life, there have been countless restaurant reservations made, movie tickets purchased, broadway theater shows attended, rodeo roundups, weekend getaways, and caribbean cruises. in recent years mr. style and i have loved to take friday afternoons off and kick around the streets of athens, ga. if i have my druthers the first stop on friday is lunch at my favorite restaurant – The National – a casual neighborhood spot reminiscent of a european cafe with cuisine that reflects the changing seasons of northeast georgia.
but i would be remiss if i didn’t mention what an eclectic town athens, ga truly is. coming in as the sixth largest city in georgia with a population of 125,691 we’re home to the university of georgia and the georgia bulldogs. go dawgs! the music scene is robust producing chart-topping bands like R.E.M and the B-52’s. every summer the city hosts AthFest a non-profit music and arts festival. plus, there are several local breweries that keep delicious pale ale’s and ipa’s on tap for the beer connoisseur and amateur alike.
