it’s fridays with oscar gang. this week we’re celebrating cinco de mayo. the first of many celebrations during the merry month of may. then there’s the kentucky derby, mother’s day, memorial day. and maybe there’s graduation or a wedding penciled into your schedule too. it’s a busy time of year to be certain. and the weather is just about perfect. so let’s savor every minute.
today, i’ve whipped up a healthy and delicious taco salad. and concocted a prosecco margarita to celebrate cinco de mayo. this date commemorates the mexican army’s victory over the french empire on may 5, 1862. in the united states, the date is associated with the celebration of the mexican-american culture. it has been observed annually in california since 1863.

what i love about this taco salad is that it’s healthy. fresh ingredients make the difference. last year lobster tacos were on the menu as well as a classic margarita for cinco de mayo. read that post here
oscar is so not into photos this week. he’s all about couch surfing.

Oscar seems so happy to have his mom with him to welcome in the weekend. What a fun and delicious way to celebrate Cinco de Maya. I love the recipe for the Prosecco margaritas and will try that. Your home and table always look so inviting and pretty. Have a great weekend Beth!

Hi Beth, loving the tablescape and those sandles. You look lovely as always. Have a great weekend, joining you in a cocktail as we are now over the jetlag. Have a great weekend x
I’m chuckling about “compliant mayo” in the taco salad ingredient list & “Biden pants” in the comments! Cinco de Mayo humor/silly autocorrect!
You’re making me hungry! The salad looks yummy–my kind of warm weather fare. Have a great weekend! I hope you get a chance to put your feet up and relax some with Oscar, Ollie and Mr Style.
Where is Ollie this Friday?
Your blog has been read by me since August 2018. I have visited Chico’s Talbot’s and Anne Taylor at your recommendations. I have even told the sales people at those stores about your blog. I love it. Thank you for putting so much effort into making me unclutter my closet and add only the essentials you have documented. I gave 5 bags of clothes to the Good Will. My best to you.
Any ideas on shoes/sandals with arch support for narrow feet?
Hello Beth,
I’ve followed your wonderful blog for several years now with such pleasure. Fridays With Oscar (and Ollie!) is my particular favorite! We had two German Shepherd half brothers, Brady and Natan, and though they’re both passed, after long and lovely lives with us, seeing your handsome boy brings back wonderful memories. The style and elegance you bring to every post is inspiring. Thank you! Enjoy the weekend. Here in Wisconsin we FINALLY have a sunny, fairly warm day, and I”m bursting with joy even at the outdoor chores in front of me. Your post inspired me to put margarita and taco fixings on my grocery list. 💐
