when the temps heat up it’s time to cool down. nothing beats those summertime temps better than linen. but if we’re headed to the office or a board meeting we still want to look crisp and chic. enter a summer pinstripe suit perfect for business casual attire. this snazzy number is from luxury brand Lafayette 148. recently, i partnered with Lafayette on their #unordinarywomen campaign to raise money for a non-profit organization “She’s the First” that supports girls’ education around the world. for every #unordinarywomen hashtag, Layfayette 148 will donate $10 to “She’s the First.” the campaign runs through May 31st so run over to my Instagram account tag a woman you want to honor and hashtag #unordinarywomen. there’s nothing dearer to my heart than raising money for education. knowledge is the key that unlocks the world.
Lafayette 148 New York is women’s fashion brand based in NYC but available in luxury retailers Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s. the brand was created in 1996 and is now headquartered in the Brooklyn Navy Yard with their own workshop and production facility. it’s a rarity in the fashion world to find a brand that combines concept, design, and production under one roof. and i applaud them for that feat.
Lafayette 148 combines trends and classics. wide leg linen pants have a fresh take on summer pinstripe trousers. a pinstripe blazer is exchanged for a summer pinstripe vest. add a cotton tank and you have a thoroughly modern ensemble. good news! it’s on sale at Neiman Marcus.
as always accessories add a personal touch to any outfit. today, i added a snazzy belt, bangle (similar here), pendant (similar here), and gold earrings (similar here).

Love today’s outfit. That belt is stunning and a great piece to be able to hand down to a granddaughter someday!
absolutely, pam! accessories can be passed down from generation to generation. xo
Beth, you look fantastic! Love this outfit! Nice to know they are AMERICAN MADE – very impressive and now I know why they are so expensive. I love their clothes but just can’t afford their prices. My husband would kill me if he knew I spent 200.00 on a tank – this will be a “style icon” outfit I’ll have to copy because it is to die for!! Even though I can’t afford these prices – I still love to see them – you rock!
this outfit can translate to so many different price points! but it’s well-made and has all those little extras’ luxury brands are known for. xo
This is not a flattering style on you, disappointed.
then we have to agree to disagree. love this outfit and it fits to a t. xo
I think you look great Beth, it could be some of the poses that look a bit awkward, but if we were to see this on you in person, I bet we would see it flow very beautifully! You are a size 8, as you’ve said, which is small , and pictures don’t always show this. Maybe a bit of tailoring on the shoulder seams and perhaps the hips, but not much. One thing I had a visual dislike at first was the sleeveless on sleeveless, but this has grown on me and I think, You look great and VERY CHIC!
thanks for the feedback, chris. actually, these pants don’t need to be tailored. remember, these are wide-leg trousers. if the hips were tailored the entire leg and look would be thrown off. glad you’re coming around to the sleeveless over sleeveless look. it’s perfect for summer. xo
Love this outfit, so classy and fresh. Looks great on you Beth.
thanks so much, kim! xo
Hi Beth, lovely outfit, for me personally I would prefer the trousers (or pants as American’s call them) to be slimmer as I’m not a wide leg gal but they look great on you. I agree with Pam that the belt is lovely.
Hubby Graham watched Game of Thrones today. He said to tell you that he thought the last episode did wrap it up but he was still a little disappointed. Xoxo
julie, i might be the only person in the entire world that liked the Game of Thrones ending. xo
My cousin’s daughter works for that company. Beautiful clothes, she works with the fabrics. Love the silk tanks.
i’m impressed with their business model. and their clothes are divine. xo
Oooooh, Love this! And that belt is fabulous. Long and lean. I love that you paired those slingback shoes with this. I liked the GOT ending as well. I predicted a number of the things that happened, so I guess I felt happy there!
