I head to Pinterest for pixie hair inspiration and look at celebrity hairstyles. Halle Berry or Taylor Hill rock a great pixie cut. Halle has a slightly longer bang, and Taylor has a classic pixie cut. Jennifer Lawrence, Keira Knightly, and Ginnifer Goodwin cut their hair into pixies and look fantastic. My favorite is Michelle Williams, who has a deep side part and side-swept bangs.

Afterward, I use a dime-sized amount of Pureology Style and Protect textured paste followed by a spritz of R+CO Dry Shampoo - both products add texture. The last step is Moroccanoil hair spray. Every once in a while, I get the itch to grow out my signature pixie, and it takes fortitude and patience to grow out your hair, especially in front of the glare of social media. One thing is certain: There are always LOTS of opinions about my hair. When COVID rolled into town and shut down the world along with my hair salon, I was more or less forced into longer locks and actually grew it out into a short bob. Then I added bangs before I cut it off again. And I’ve had my share of bad hairstyles, even under the guidance of a great hairstylist. But the good news is that hair grows, and you can and should change your look now and then. Change is good for the soul! Invariably I go back to a version of my pixie cut.

Beth, thank you! I have curly hair but of course like to wear it straight but I liked the curly example you showed. I sometimes think with my white hair and wear it curly it looks like permed hair and I think it makes me look old. But I do think the right cut can take care of that.
