In today's post I am going to fill you in on some of the best sellers and deals in beauty to check out next time you’re visiting the Amazon site. I know Amazon can be a proverbial black hole you one can get lost in if you’re wanting to try something new, so I’ve done the searching, investigating, and trying for you!
Most of these suggestions I already own and love, and some of them are in my cart waiting for me to hit pay now. And best of all, they’re all under $100 bucks!
Does your skin need a pick-me-up? Here are some effective suggestions for the following skincare categories found on Amazon to look into and advantage of.
Exfoliants: This is prime time to brighten the dull skin that has accumulated during winter by using a chemical or physical exfoliant. The exfoliant I cannot recommend enough is the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, $35. It gives remarkable results of less bumpy skin texture, fights dullness, and clogged pores. I use it about 3X a week. With over 95K reviews of 4.5 stars and over 50K sold just in one month, you don’t want to miss out on this product.
If you want to save more time without having to wash your face, then applying an exfoliant, here’s a two in one solution. The RoC Resurfacing Disks + Exfoliating self foaming makeup remover pads, $12. With a 4.7 rating out of 11K reviews, it could be your new favorite affordable skin care item.
SPF: Of course our exposure to sunshine goes up during the spring because we tend to go outside more, so SPF should be top of mind. The eltaMD UV Clear Face sunscreen, $43, is an oil free facial sunscreen that is lightweight and silky made with zinc oxide. It’s got SPF 46 and also helps to calm and protect sensitive skin types prone to acne, rosacea, and discoloration. It’s one of the #1 most recommended facial sunscreen brands by dermatologists.
MOISTURIZER: Most of us, even us super dry gals, can lighten up on our moisturizer and lay off the heavy creams during the daytime into the warmer months. One of the best selling, super affordable ones out now is the e.l.f. Cosmetics Holy Hydration face cream, $12. It’s got powerful hydration and pro-aging skincare ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalane, and niacinamide. It creates a bouncy complexion and absorbs quickly for a super soft and silky feel.
Here are some simple ways to get organized and have more functionality in your bathroom vanity area. We know that feeling organized can lead to more enjoyment in the getting ready process!
MORE COUNTER SPACE: This is a genius idea for those with smaller bathrooms and little countertop space. This Silicone Makeup Mat Sink Cover, $26, immediately gives you extra counter space without having to place items in the sink! Its silicone ridges keep your mascara and other cosmetics from rolling away AND you can place curling irons on top of it so you don’t burn your bathroom surfaces. There’s also a rounded version as well, $24.
MORE STORAGE: I recently purchased this $79, 7 drawer chest system, that I have been able to store and categorize my makeup into blushes, mascaras, eyeshadows, powders, etc! It doesn’t take up much room and the drawers pull out smoothly and easily so I can find exactly what I’m looking for. I added padded drawer liners so items don’t move around a lot which is a game changer.
PALETTE ORGANIZERS: If you own as many eyeshadow quads and palettes as I do, buying these cheap acrylic organizers, $10, to separate them, is brilliant. Visually, it’s easy to pick out and see which one you want to use that day!
Here are a few of my staple makeup items I will only go to Amazon to repurchase because their prices always beat the other retailers.
SKIN PERFECTOR: I use this Maybelline 4 in 1 Glow Perfector makeup, $10, pretty much daily. The large sponge applicator makes it a breeze to just click up the product and swipe onto the face. Somehow it blurs, brightens, and evens out my skin tone to where sometimes I don’t even add foundation. I use shade light-medium right now but go up in the summer to medium. I find the best price on this is always on Amazon. It’s a perfect spring makeup product to try on.
MASCARA PACKS: Mascara could be one of the most repurchased makeup products used by women. So why wouldn't you go ahead and buy a pack of them so you have a new one on hand at all times? And mascara prices have significantly gone up in price as of recently - and buying in a pack is always more economical. The L’Oreal Lash Paradise duo pack at $16 is one of the BEST deals right now on this fave drugstore mascara that retails for $10 - $13 a tube regularly. And of course, the mascara that went super viral, Essence Lash Princess, you can get a pack of 3 for only $15.
EVERYDAY LIP GLOSS: You could be tired of hearing me speak of the NYX Butter glosses, $6, but it’s hard not to share them with you! Amazon always has the best variety of their color choices (there’s lots of them) and they’re mega cheap. I’m wearing “strawberry cheesecake” in today's post which gives my face a sense of spring with its bright warm pink shade!
Other neutral colors I stock up on are : tiramisu (pale brown hint of pink), angel food cake (true mauve), praline (deep nude), and bit of honey (peach nude).
Did you notice my dog Taco in the background wanting to make an appearance in today’s blog post?!
LUXURY BRANDS: Sometimes we think we have to go to Nordstrom or Saks for our prestige makeup needs, but nope - Amazon carries a bunch of the good ones! Think Trish McEvoy’s Instant eye Lift, $46, Clarins iconic Face Oils, $67, and even the eyebrow queen herself Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow pomade, $21. Just make sure you’re buying from the brand's actual store front and not a second-hand seller. (there’s lots of Dior on there, but Dior does not have a storefront on Amazon and those sellers tend to jack up the pricing!)
Here are some of the beauty tools you didn’t know you needed. But once you have them, you’ll be grateful you did!
EYELASH SEPARATOR: Hate clumpy lashes? I’ve got the tool for that that works miracles to declump quickly and easily (just be careful when using!). This eyelash comb separator, $5, is arched to fit nicely around your lash line with fine stainless steel teeth to comb out clumps and flakes! For $5, why wouldn’t you try it??
ROTATING MAKEUP BRUSH CLEANER: I got one of these for Christmas from my kids and I love it! It has a gentle motor that rotates around and automatically cleans your brushes quickly. I just put a few drops of my Mrs. Meyers dishwashing liquid into the tube (what I always use to clean my makeup brushes) and watch it go to work. Since cleaning your brushes is a MUST, but so boring, this Brushly Automatic Cleaner, $24, makes the chore more fun 🙂
DUO FOUNDATION + CONCEALER BRUSH: It’s the all in one makeup brush every gal needs and deserves. I own a couple versions of these that I keep in my makeup artist trunk, in my office, and in my personal bathroom! Nothing better than being able to blend in both types of makeup with one brush. If you want cheap, the e.l.f. Cosmetics version, $8 is perfect. If you want a higher end one, the It Cosmetics heavenly luxe complexion brush, $50, will last you for years.
The rest of my outfit details are from Amazon as well : Oversized checkered cardigan, $39, is super soft and medium weighted, wearing a small in the brown. Comes in a lot of colors | Large teardrop earrings I wear all the time, $11 | Ribbed high waist leggings, $20 | Layered gold necklaces of various types, $14, herringbone here, $34
This is just the tip of the iceberg on great deals found on Amazon, but let me know if this type of post was helpful and if you’d like to see more. Y’all have been very vocal about more Makeup Dupes posts like this one, so another one will be coming in March!
