All right, ladies, we interrupt the Mother of the Groom series to share all things makeup and hair this holiday season. They say our hair is our crowing glory, and I quite agree! Today, I’m thrilled to partner with Zuvi Halo Hair once again because I’m a firm believer in not only investing in hair products but also in hair tools.
It’s been a minute since I shared my hair and makeup routine with you. No matter my hair length or style, I do my best to keep my silver locks in tip-top shape.

Through the years, I’ve discovered various hair products to keep my hair healthy. But I’ve found the key to shiny and smooth hair is the hair tools I use. Hair dryers can cause stress, leaving my hair dry and brittle from blasts of heat. Heat can be the enemy at times. I feel the same about clothes dryers and know that low temps or hang dry are best.
Last fall and spring, I partnered with Zuvi Halo on YouTube and discovered the many benefits of this award-winning product. I LOVE the patented LightCare technology that dries the surface of my hair and protects the moisture within the hair shaft. Allure Magazine awarded Zuvi Halo Allure Best of Beauty 2022: Breakthrough Awards. After using Zuvi Halo for several months, I can see why! When my future daughter-in-law visited for the weekend, she “borrowed” my Zuvi Halo and fell in love with it. Guess what I sent home with her?
My hair tends to be wavy and frizzy, especially during the summer months when the humidity in Georgia matches the temps. I need a hair dryer that leaves my hair smooth and shiny. No small feat! And even though I wear my hair short, it can take forever to dry, and it can suffer from the high heat temperature. Zuvi gets my hair dry in record time and leaves my hair smoother than other hair dryers. And my hair has more shine because the hair cuticle is left hydrated and healthy, reflecting more light than hair that’s been overdried. It is a game-changer!
Zuvi Halo comes with three attachments in the box: a diffuser to help reduce frizz, a styling concentrator to help precisely style your hair, and a gentle air attachment to help create an even cooler airflow.
Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer is 25% off during their Black Friday sale. Use my code Beth5 for an extra 5% off. Save a total of 30%. The best deal of the year is here! You can give it a try and still have a 30-day money-back guarantee. Zuvi offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on normal days. Place the order now for up to almost 50 days of the trial period, and you can return it up until January 15th, 2024
Now, onto my daytime makeup. I’ve had so many requests to share what I use from day to day, so here’s the skinny. First, I apply primer to my eyelids to retain the pigment of the eyeshadow then I apply primer to my face. I used to skip both of these steps, but I’ve learned if I want my makeup to last all day, this is an important step.
L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Face Blurring Primer | Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer | Diorskin Forever Foundation | Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer | Nudestix Nudies Dewy Cream Blush | Physicians Formula Butter Dream Team | Fenty Eyeshadow Cool Neutrals | LAURA GELLER NEW YORK Kajal Longwear Kohl Eyeliner | Urban Decay Subversion Eyelash Primer | Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara | Benefit Gimme Brow
Next, I apply my eyeshadow. Recently, I’ve been using Fenty Cool Neutrals with U There as the base on my lid, Gettin Toasty in the crease, and Hey Aunty in the outer corner of my lid. Then I blend blend blend. Laura Geller Kajal Eyeliner in Midnight Blue Kohl is next, and I smudge it with an eyeliner brush.
Benefit Gimme Brow in cool grey highlights my natural eyebrows. And I’m a big believer in an eyelash primer that adds volume to my eyelashes. Better Than Sex mascara in black is my all-time favorite mascara! Although I do use other mascaras, I always come back to Better Than Sex (where do they come up with these names?!).
In the winter months, I combine two foundation shades for fuller coverage. Dior Diorskin Forever Foundation in 010 and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Cameo. During the hot summer months, I only use the tinted foundation because it’s light coverage. I’m loving cream blushes these days as they apply like a dream. Nudestix Nudies in Cherry Blossom has been my favorite for two years running. Maybe three. Then I brush Physicians Formula Bronzer on my nose and under my blush for a little glow.
But I would be remiss if I didn’t mention makeup brushes that give me a smooth application. itCosmetics is a go-to brand of mine (love, love, love their skincare, and I’m a big fan of their makeup brushes:
IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7 | IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe French Boutique Blush Brush #4 | IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Airbrush Powder & Bronzer Brush #1 | Shadow Brush #119 | Crease Brush #320 | All Over Shadow Brush #322
And that, ladies, is my daytime makeup routine.
