when prescriptives asked me for a product review i have to say i was intrigued. mainly, because i remember my mother pouncing on this brand when they first appeared on the scene in 1979. i was still in college at the time, cleansing and moisturizing my face with the oh-so-economical noxema. and still a few years away from upgrading to clinique, my first department store splurge. since then, i’ve had the pleasure of trying numerous products, running the gamut from beauty bargains to major investments. but skin care remains a high-priority in my life, and i’m game to try the new kid, okay, new product, in town. and that product is Super Line Filler by Prescriptives.
here is a synopsis of the product taken from the Prescriptives site:
Instantly fills in and blurs the look of lines and wrinkles, so skin looks smoothed and perfected.
Over time, this long-wearing formula helps visibly repair wrinkles.
After applying Super Line Preventor Xtreme, gently tap a small amount of Super Line Filler directly into visible expression lines and let set.
Use morning and night.
Reapply as needed throughout the day.
i was keen to use this product as i’ve noticed, especially in the last 2-3 years, that my ‘expression’ lines are becoming more visible. yes, i am the one that not only uses their hands to talk, but their face. maybe it was raising those 3 scoundrels of mine that needed a stern look now and then to keep them in place – nothing beats a raised eyebrow in my book. and, no one that knows me well would ever accuse me of having a stellar poker-face. they say the eyes are the window to your soul. but in my case, my face will pretty much sum up my mood if you are so inclined to look. and while i am happy to break out a grin on any given day (or sometimes a scowl if my mood sours) those smiles tend to wrinkle the face. and while i’m certainly not opposed to wrinkles, hey, i’ve earned them, i’m also keen on putting my best face forward each and every day.
to give a fair appraisal to Super Line Filler i’ve included 3 ‘before’ photos, and 3 ‘after’ photos. i also wanted to use this product for a period of time before i shared my thoughts with you. it’s been 8 weeks since i added this product to my skincare repertoire. here are my thoughts:
i’ve noticed a definite improvement, especially the lines around my lips. if i carefully apply the product, tapping the filler in before applying my makeup, the fine lines are blurred. this is especially useful when wearing a bright lip color, like red, as the lipstick is more inclined to stay in place. but i’ve also noticed the lines between my eyebrows have softened, and are not as deep. these are the two areas i concentrated on while using Super Line Filler
ladies, i’ll let you decide for yourselves after perusing my before and after photos. as for me, Super Line Filler is staying in my skin care lineup. just a reminder, Prescriptives is not available for in-store purchase as they converted to an on-line only presence in 2011. i’ve linked the product to their site throughout the post so you can check them out at your convenience.
