i’ve read that we should be able to define our style in three words. what’s yours? mine are, american-classic, clean, and polished. if ever i’m in doubt on what to wear on any particular day, i go back to these three words. today’s ootd is classic me – sweater, pearls, chinos, and flats. so what makes this look timeless and modern at the same time? take the cardigan. look at the cut – 3/4 sleeves trimmed in braid. this type of cardigan has been around since its inception by acclaimed designer coco chanel. and was favored by jackie kennedy in the sixties. it looks terrific paired with a pencil skirt for work. or it can be dressed down with chinos for a casual lunch. i like it with pearls either way. but it’s the bright infusion of yellow that keeps this classic cardi looking modern and fresh. i love the contrast of the white and black braid that trims the sweater. it’s small details like this that make the difference. and elevate your look! a woven straw crossbody has spring written all over it and is so useful to carry especially if you need both hands free.

What a fantastic outfit! I am going to have a think about how to define my style in 3 words. I think it will help in my wardrobe selection and ward off those unnecessary or spontaneous purchases. Thank you for this.
hi elizabeth!
spontaneous purchases can be dangerous to the pocketbook that’s for sure! but it’s helpful to have direction even when it comes to our wardrobe selections. at least, it’s helped me through the years.
