hello, Friday! the fairest of them all. fairest day, that is, and a special day i always look forward to ever since a child. it doesn’t matter that i work from home and the days blend seamlessly together. or that the world has been shut down for the better part of a year, and we stopped keeping track of time… nope! doesn’t matter. this girl will always love Friday. and it seems society agrees. have you ever heard of TGIM? i think not. but we all know TGIF is part of our jargon, and i think it’s safe to say it will always be. so let’s say goodbye to another week and usher in the weekend with a spring to our step ‘cuz it’s Friday y’all!
Georgia has seen its fair share of storms this week. the umbrella behind me in the photos toppled over, and the hammock looked a little worse for wear. oscar even hid under my desk when a terrific thunderstorm blew through town with lightning bolts to boot. all that rain was good for my new shrubs and perennials recently planted, so i shan’t complain. but i’m thrilled to see the sunshine peek through the clouds once again. can you guess where i’ll be the better part of the weekend? yep, right here in my own backyard with the firepit ablaze.
friday is the day i keep my ootd super casual. today is no exception. but i traded my blue jeans and chinos for a cute pair of plaid pants (old, similar here, here, and here). last summer, the pants were originally paired with a black polo and white sneakers. read how to dress perfectly preppy. since there’s still a chill in the air, a lightweight cable knit sweater from Banana Republic added warmth with a smidge of comfort. what’s easier to slip on your tootsies than a pair of mules last seen here?

can you believe Easter is a mere two weeks away?! holy moly, how did that happen? time to bring my Easter eggs into play. how cute are these eggs from GrandinRoad? i, for one, am always a sucker for any seasonal decorations. but i can never resist pink and green. growing up as a girl, my bedroom always had hints of both colors, so it’s safe to say this color combo has a special place in my heart.
if it’s spring, then it’s time to whip up chicken salad. there are so many variations available, but today’s version includes avocados and bacon. can you say delicious? avocados are the good fats we want in our system.

there are always lots of questions about the front planters and urns from GrandinRoad. don’t they remind you of Mackenzie Childs? the faux boxwood dog is also from GrandinRoad, which is one of my favorite retailers when it comes to outdoor decorations.
oscar, ollie, and i wish each of you a lovely weekend!

Love the cocktail and chicken salad recipe. Will have to try them out – TGIF. As a Canadian, I have never seen Azaleas before….. at a future photo shoot, can you take pics where there are azaleas behind or around you? We are still waiting for spring here in Alberta, Canada. The weather is mild (60s) but everything is brown and muddy. Waiting for the trees and lilacs to bud but that is usually in late April. Thanks!
Love love the plaid pants! The sweater is yummy! Fantastic look. Always love seeing your furry friends.
Have an enjoyable weekend.
You look like you are ready for spring. You look fab. Oscar too. Glad it is nice there. I live in NE Ohio and it has been cold but sunny. I’m still in my winter woollies! The chicken salad looks delicious, I’ll try it. I made the beans, sausage, and spinach last week and it was delicious. Soon to become a staple dish. Thanks so much.
Hi to Ollie too. She probably likes lounging in she sun.
