one of my all-time classic favorites is the humble shirtdress similar here and here. it comes in a variety of fabrics goes to the office with ease or dress it down for a casual weekend vibe. come fall, a shirtdress looks fantastic popped over a pair of leggings. or as in today’s ootd faux leather leggings similar here and here.
if you thought navy and black couldn’t possibly work in tandem as a color combo think again. this dark rinse denim dress last seen here looks fantastic with black leggings. black accessories keep the overall look simple but casually chic. and we all know i love to sneak a belt in here and there so i couldn’t resist popping on a wide belt with silver buckle. what a great accessory that typically lasts for years. silver jewelry was chosen to reinforce the buckle. it’s been ages since i’ve worn a peep toe pump. but i like it. i really do. for those of you in colder climates, a bootie would substitute nicely.
this tooled leather handbag is years old, but patricia nash has a wonderful collection of similar bags and has created an iconic and affordable brand. handbags are not only practical, but they are an easy way to amp up your outfit. plus, just like belts, they last for years and years and then some. does anyone own a handbag passed down from their mother or grandmother? nuff said.
