Barn jackets are back this year and it’s no wonder, they are great alternatives to denim jackets, often they are coated and water resistant – perfect for inclement weather. They go great with denim and casual dresses. Find them in solid earth tones or classic plaids.
What to say about denim that hasn’t been said here before…? I love denim jackets; they’re a wardrobe staple that go with virtually any outfit – dressed up or down. While the classic trucker style always works, this year denim is finding itself in all kinds of new styles, like lady jackets, barn jackets, and trench coats.
We are so happy this iconic, classic print is back this season because while we believe leopard print never goes out of style, it can be hard to find when it’s not trending. But not so this year! Leopard is gracing the racks and shelves of all our favorite brands. So, if you love like we do, this is the year to round out your collection of leopard prints!
Blazers are one of my most worn items in fall and winter. And jeans with a blazer is one of my favorite cool-weather combinations. It’s an easy go-to when I want to put together a chic outfit that I am confident will always work. This year, colorful, statement-making blazers are everywhere. Wear them over neutrals, or go for a monochrome outfit with multiple shades of the same color.
If you’re looking for cozy, shearling is the coat for you. With the English Countryside trend in fashion going strong this year, a shearling coat has all of the country cabin or cottage vibes you could hope for.
Is there a more fun jacket than faux fur? Slide your arms through the sleeves of a faux fur coat and it’s like you just took your outfit to a whole other level. Faux fur coats are definitely a mood-elevating piece of clothing and they’re especially fun for special occasions. But make any occasion a special one just by wearing a faux fur coat!
Bomber jackets have been making their way into trend status for the last two years. It seems it finally made it this year because we are seeing a lot of bomber jacket styles in an array of fabrics beyond the typical nylon. Alternative fabrics with texture and pattern are elevating the bomber jacket style making it chic and wearable no matter your personal style.
A leather moto jacket is classic, which makes it a great investment piece. This classic jacket will never go out of style and it works perfectly dressed up or down. Look for leather alternatives like faux suede and faux leather. You can also find the moto jacket style in fabric, like the Quilted Moto Jacket from Talbots.
Lady jackets and lady cardigans have been very popular for a few years now. Elegance is making a strong comeback this year with dainty top-handle handbags and Mary Janes, so lady jackets fit right in. Look for tweed and tipped styles for the ultimate in elegance and refinement.
Dress it up, dress it down. Form meets function with the classic trench coat making it a classic. This year, we are seeing a variety of style tweaks and color options that make the iconic style more fun and always wearable! If you don’t have a trench coat in your closet…what are you waiting for? This is a perfect go-to coat that you can reach for any time you’re stumped on what jacket to wear.
