Happy Sunday, Ladies! ’Tis the season – today we are kicking off the holiday season with 5 Holiday Outfits. Beautiful rich colors, sparkle, and shine are the themes for holiday dressing in 2024. Mixing and matching separates gives you so many options for creating your holiday outfits in new and interesting ways – which means getting a lot of mileage out of your wardrobe. There is no better time to add glitz and shine to your outfits than the holiday season – especially when metallics, embellishments, and velvet are everywhere this year!
Accessories play a key role in these outfits, with statement jewelry, shimmering clutches, and elegant heels completing the look. Read jewelry and accessories for the holidays for more inspiration. Layering with stylish outerwear, like a faux fur coat or a sequined blazer, adds warmth and sophistication, making these outfits ideal for holiday parties and celebrations that require a touch of glamour.
Glitz and glam winter holiday outfits are all about embracing the sparkle and shine that the festive season brings. Rich, jewel-toned colors such as emerald green, deep red, and royal blue set the perfect backdrop for elegant silhouettes, For at-home entertaining, I’m a bit more comfy yet still want added pizazz. Enter blurred floral jacquard pants from Talbots and a cozy turtleneck from J. McLaughlin, available in twelve colors. I sized up one size for a roomy fit.
Think luxurious fabrics like velvet and satin, adorned with sequins, beads, or metallic accents that catch the light beautifully. Whether it’s a tailored jumpsuit, a flowing maxi dress, or a chic cocktail ensemble. If you’re headed out to the theater or want an outfit with a little something extra, I love a decidedly masculine tuxedo with a feminine touch. It’s the yin and yang of fashion. This year, Talbots trotted out a white maxi skirt that’s simple yet glamorous. I chose a simple turtleneck instead of a blouse and topped it with a tuxedo blazer. Gold metallic pumps are the piece de resistance!
Velvet or velveteen is the perfect fabric for the holiday season. But it can also be worn before and after Christmas, Hanukkah, or NYE. Kelly wore a velvet suit from J.Crew last week in the blog post velvet for today and beyond. Today, I’m wearing flare-leg velveteen pants and a blazer from Talbots. A sexy lace trim cami gives the outfit that holiday feel as do the sequin shoes.

Silver metallic jeans are on trend this year, and we shared an entire blog post on how to style metallic jeans.

For the ultimate sparkle and shine, sequins are the way to go. Nothing says "festive holiday outfit" quite like sequins, especially if they're in a bold color, like red. When your show-stopping piece is sequins like this Red Sequin Skirt, go for a monochromatic ensemble and mix your textures by wearing a sweater, like this Cashmere Boatneck Sweater, and velvet heels, like these gorgeous Velvet Kitten Heels.

As usual, you look amazing in everything!
I particularly liked the black suit with the royal blouse.
There are sooooo many great options for the holidays!
Thanks for stopping by!
They are all gorgeous options! I like the gray sweater and gray leather pants for a more casual holiday look, and the red skirt and sweater for dressy!
The silver jeans are tres chic! And they’re versatile, too.
Love the red ensemble with your pic on the sofa. Stunning!
What a lovely outfit. I’m glad you like it too!
Your hair looks fabulous with the silver outfit! Stunning!
I’m a big fan of gray and silver! Perfect all winter long.
GREAT, Beth! I love the Talbots Velveteen flare leg pants and blazer. But you look wonderful in everything. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks, Carolina Girl! So many options this holiday season.
Love all your outfits. I purchased the silver metallic pants and gray embellished sweater. Anxious to get them. I have a navy velveteen blazer from last year that I will have to wear with something this year too.
You will love those jeans, Sherry! And the embellished sweater is just so much fun to wear.
This takes me back years. We used to hold a cocktail party at our home between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. We entertained between 30 and 50 people at a time. The ladies and I wore what we called a cocktail dress in those days, and all the men wore suits. How times have changed.
Sounds like so much fun! And so many wonderful memories!
Red is your color Beth. Beautiful!
Red is a terrific color and one of my favorites!
But the sequin skirt steals the show!
Stunning as usual! I want everything; too bad I have nowhere to go! Oh well. I would still love to see all of these outfits hanging in my closet. I love the all white /cream outfit. Just lovely on you!
Happy Holidays, Nancy!
My favorite is the red outfit! The sweater looks amazing on you with its fitted band at the bottom.
It’s a keeper! Ann Taylor is killing it this season.
