today, i’m giving a tour of my home office. as a lifestyle and fashion blogger, it’s where i spend most of my day when i’m not on a photo or video shoot. in the past, i’ve shared many rooms of my home with you; living room, kitchen, bedroom and home office. i’m hoping today’s post will inspire you all to have a stylish home office—and a stylish home more generally.
if Covid taught us anything it’s that our homes are our sanctuaries from the madness that is the world around us. many of us have funneled vacation dollars into home renovation projects since we’re spending a considerable amount of time at home. so why not make them an extension of ourselves?

how to design your home office—or any room in your house—is a totally personal decision and a function of your own aesthetics. with the advent of Pinterest and other design boards, it’s easy to compile a gallery of inspiration that can serve and guide us on everything from a refresh to a full-blown remodel. 2020 had many of us rethink how we use our rooms since we’re spending more time at home. so if you’re tight on space think double-duty. have your living room or dining room double up as home office spaces. it can be as easy as adding a book shelf or a desk. i chose to reinvent my dining room into a home office.
personally, i’m a fan of clean clines and simple design techniques—like contrasting classic and modern design patterns—to create a space i want to be in. and of course i’m not immune to applying my personal fashion sense to my design one.

this fiddle leaf fig and white ceramic planter used to be in my living room. this year i exchanged the caned chair for the plant and i’m loving the change.
today’s ootd is easy peasey as a home office outfit should be. these sweater joggers from Banana Republic have been on style repeat all winter long. they are as comfy as they are chic. a cream sweater (old, similar here) from Everlane adds a layer of warmth. when i’m headed outside for errands this quilted jacket from Banana Republic keeps the outfit stylish. and i couldn’t resist a nod to spring with a pair of mules (limited sizes similar here and here) from Dolce Vita.

I love your neutral outfit today. It looks comfy too! You always look very put together.
If the office is in the dining room, where did the dining room go? Is it in the old office? My husband hates for furniture to move, but…
Thanks for your blog!
Jan
i had a designer come in and help me repurpose my home. the first thing she did was move the dining room into the living space which is now a combination of living/dining and claim the dining room as a home office.
Beth,
I love the poppy artwork on your wall. Can you tell me where you got it?
everybody loves that painting! but i’m sad to report it is no longer available.
Love your blog. I just have to ask since I have no clue how you set all of this up as to photography. Do you shoot all of our photos in a day and use as needed ,or do you have a photographer come in as needed? Your German Shepard looks very smart, but I’m pretty sure he can’t do that.
By the way the back garden looks like it is going to be wonderful!
i have a photographer/videographer on staff. we take photos several times a week and film YouTube videos on Wednesday. can’t wait for spring to utilize my backyard!
Really like the ceiling light fixture.
thank you!
Hi Beth, everything looks very smart. I love your shoes, I have a pair, my only pair of that style at the moment and are in your favourite colour pink, at the moment though I have my sheepskin slippers on because its so cold. Loving your outfit. Regards Julie x
stay warm! it’s february so we’re right in the thick of cold weather.
What a pretty and inviting space to work! I especially like the artwork.
one of my favorite pieces of art!
Enjoyed your post. Where did you purchase the yearly schedule book from?
that was a Christmas gift from Talbots. the company is The Happy Planner.
Hi
Love your office.!
Do you remember the name of the poster/painting behind your desk….the big orange flowers. Love it, do you know where it can be purchased?
i’m sorry to report the painting is no longer available.
I love your rug!
mr. style was persian so of course, we have quite a few persian rugs.
Hi Beth,
Love the simplicity of your office. Do you remember the paint color of your charcoal walls? I’m looking to do something just like this.
Thanks!
the walls are Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore.
Beth,
I have followed you for a couple of years now, and I have gotten many style inspirations from your posts. But today, you solved a decorating and storage problem for me. I need everything to have its spot, and my office did not provide that. When I saw your slim etagere, I knew that was the answer! Got mine from Wayfair, assembled, installed and oh my goodness, it is perfect. I am still working on the stying of it, but thanks so much for the perfect solution!
I look forward to the blog every day. Thanks for the great ideas!
Carol
don’t you just love Wayfair! it’s great to have everything in its place and a place for everything. have fun styling.
