Happy Thursday! Lately I have been all about color, but today I want to share an easy, breezy little black dress that is perfect for spring. An LBD is appropriate for any season, and I am always keeping an eye out for a new LBD in a season-appropriate style. Today we are out and about in one of my favorite neighborhoods, Normaltown, so it seemed like the perfect time to take this outfit out for a spin.
I wanted to take Alex to a great little wine bar called The Lark Winespace. The Lark features a rotating wine tasting menu and a really fun menu of tinned fish tapas dishes and cheeses. It’s an open, airy space that is intimate and inviting.

One of the things I love about this Collared Mini Shirtdress is that it has long sleeves. Often spring temperatures are unpredictable and it’s nice to have sleeves. This dress from J.Crew Factory isn’t sold in petite sizes, but since it’s a mini dress, the length works out just fine for a petite.
About a year ago I featured this same style in a flower print. What can I say, I am a sucker for full skirts and shirtdresses!
I love the look of caning. No matter if it's furniture or fashion. Last year I scored a caning clutch from J.McLaughlin, and when I saw these Merrain Caning Wedge sandals from Jack Rogers, well, I wanted to add them to my collection.
Instead of toting my caning clutch today, I was too excited to test out my latest handbag purchase from Frances Valentine. I have one other bag from Frances Valentine and it’s one of those investment purchases I am so glad I made because now, it’s not only unavailable but I haven’t found anything remotely similar.
The Hannah Lunchbox is a classic lunchbox shape, in classic woven wicker, with bamboo top handles. The interior lining is a vibrant watercolor flower print. I love the vintage look of this wicker lunchbox handbag; I think it's a nice compliment to my full skirted shirtdress.
This Lina Reversible Belt gives the shirtdress more shape, nipping the waist. This dress has a looser fitting bodice, so it helps to create a more polished look with a belt.
You might have noticed my hair is quite a bit straighter. I got a keratin treatment with my haircut on Tuesday. While I have to wait 48 hours to get my hair wet, I am enjoying the sleek style.
Hopefully the keratin treatment will help my hair from frizzing out in the humid Georgia summer. I will let you know how it goes!
Tuesday, Beth shared another great way to wear black this spring - in the classic combo of black and white. Click the title or image below to read the article.

This is a cute dress — you look great!
Thanks so much, Lynn! xo Kelly
A Suggestion for Kelly, I too have very fizzy hair and there is a product called Keratin Smooth that you can apply yourself at home. I thought Kellys hair was cute but I understand that she wants to tame it like I do. This product is not harsh and I like it better than the salon treatment. Later on give it a try!
Thanks for the tip, Julie. I will have to look into that product! xo Kelly
Hi Kelly
Luv this look! Great strappy sandals too.
I am also looking for a black shirt dress.
I wanted something versatile that I could wear strappy heels or sparkly flip flops this summer.
I have ordered The Reformation Woodson dress. 🤞🤞🤞
Great post.
Hey Kris! I am glad my post was well-timed. 🤗Also, the Reformation Woodson Dress is gorgeous! What a fantastic choice! Have a great weekend, xo Kelly
Kelly! You look beautiful as always! I love your dress —and your hair is adorable! You always remind me of kourtney kardashian! Who is so pretty also! Thank you for all you do and have a blessed Easter! 😇🐣☀️
