i know, i know, i just devoted an entire post to denim. but i can’t help myself! especially when it comes to cropped and a wide-leg. they are just dang cute and fun to wear to boot. last time i wore these with a block heel. but a reader asked what flats would look like. so here’s what i came up with. slingbacks. as a matter of fact, these were my go-to shoes for months last year as i had a crush on them. much like i’ve been crushing on this handbag with faux bamboo handles. i guess when i like something – i like it! and i also like turtlenecks even in summer. who remembers the movie something’s gotta give? i loved diane keaton’sย response to jack nicholsonย when asked if she ever got hot wearing turtlenecks, “no, not really. i like them; i’veย always liked them.” well, diane, i can totally relate. today’s ootdย is proof. i guess you’d say it’s time to ease into tuesdayย wearing a few of my favorite things.

labels: denim (similar here, here and here); turtleneck (similar here,ย here, and here); slingbacks (similar here, here, and here); handbag (similar here and here); lipstick here

About The Author

  1. You look so amazing in these pants! I tried a few of these on and felt I looked ridiculous. How do you do it?

    1. i am determined to catch up on my comments! i always love to hear from you amy. but i have to admit i too thought i looked kind of funny when i first put these pants on. but now when i look in the mirror i truly like the new silhouette. it just takes time for our brain to adapt.

  2. Nikki Gwin

Who doesn’t love denim?? Although, I always feel like I need heels when wearing cropped pants. Wait, are these called crops? Well, whatever you call pants that stop at the ankles. haha I used to wear sleeveless turtlenecks and I still like them. Just haven’t seen any for sale lately.
    love ya!

    1. hi nikki! are you enjoying summer? the cropped pants are still buzzing around in lots of stores. i hope you checked out my links.
      love ya right back!

  3. Sue Smith

I have worn this exact same outfit–shoes, bag and all. Love it! And my knees bother me all the time with RA, so the looser, cropped pants are stylish and fun and don’t make my knees hurt. Win; win.

    1. ha, ha. we are definitely style sisters, sue. (say that three times in a row!). and anything that keeps your looking cute and comfy is a win/win.

Loving these looks. I hope the newcropped pants stay around for a while. This length and style work for me.

    1. i hope this style will stay around too. i have seen wide-legs on trend for fall so we’ll keep our fingers crossed. it’s so nice to have different silhouettes to choose from.

    1. hi sue! i am soooo behind on answering comments. i’ve just been nursing a bug this week. just what you want on these lovely summer days. although, we have had our share of thunderstorms roll through. something you don’t have to contend with in socal!

  6. Linda De

Love the paired down look of everything besides the pants…great bag! Must look for one like it! Your sunnies with all the angles are great with that kind of Audrey Hepburn look <3

    1. hi linda! these cropped pants aren’t for everyone, but the do take some getting used to and i’m happy to report i do like the silhouette for a change of pace.
