no need to sing those monday blues when i’m wearing my style uniform. for those of you new to the blog my style uniform consists of the 4B’s – blazer, button-down, blue jeans, and ballet flats. this is an outfit i love, feel comfortable wearing, and step out the door in the morning armed with confidence. this is also an outfit that assembles quickly, it reflects my personality, and relies heavily on wardrobe basics. if you’re not familiar with wardrobe basics (core pieces that build your wardrobe foundation) last january i wrote a series devoted to that topic. please read those posts here, here, and here.
there’s nothing fancy about a style uniform, but it works. and it can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content with different shoes, blazers, shirts or tee’s, blue jeans, and handbags. remember, the devil is in the details and accessories (or lack of them) make a big impact. since i also rely on timeless, classic style day in and day out i thought i would put those classics to the test to see just how timeless they are. if you’re interested, i started a series on Instagram to put my money where my mouth is so to speak. today’s ootd was inspired by the late Princess Diana who wore a similar outfit over twenty years ago.

today i exchanged ballet flats for loafers.
but the rest of my style uniform is in play – blazer, button-down, and blue jeans.

if you’re not a fan of button-down’s simply exchange it for a blouse, sweater or tee. your style uniform consists of those items you love.
all right, ladies, it’s time to kick off our week. happy monday!
