two trends that are going strong straight into fall.
skirt | top | sandal | belt | handbag | lip shade grace
even though my style is classic through-and-through it’s important to stay abreast of trends. when i find one (or two) that i like then it’s added to my closet. this one style trick is what keeps my wardrobe fresh and modern.
ruffles are going strong straight into fall. this skirt similar here was purchased from ann taylor last winter. the hemline is sassy and feminine but office appropriate. a fun detail like this makes it easy to add another black skirt into the rotation.
bell sleeves are still on-trend and we’ll see just how long it sticks around. this blouse from loft had an interesting detail that caught my eye – embroidery. and i loved the black and blue color scheme.
i’ve added a belt for extra pizazz plus a simple pair of black sandals and handbag. men love to add a red tie into their wardrobe as their ‘power color.’ today, i chose my lipstick with care and slicked on red lips for the same effect. this shade is grace by nars available at sephora. power tie – power lips.
every once in awhile, i love to style one item two ways to show how to add versatility to your wardrobe. this blouse can go from nine-to-five to the weekend with ease.
the blouse length is fairly long and could easily be worn as a tunic. but i decided a half-tuck looked pretty spiffy to show off high-waisted frayed hem blue jeans. this pair is by talbots
the shorter length of these blue jeans showcases a pair of cute shoes. who doesn’t like to show off their heels? block heels are also on trend and are super comfy to boot. i’d say that’s a win/win. this pair by merona was purchased this spring but is still available at target.
for a casual chic look, chandelier earrings are just the ticket. as is this cute hipitini handbag by beltini. this ootd will transition from summer to fall with ease.
but i’m hanging on to every last day of summer. there’s nothing like a summer breeze. don’t you agree? happy monday, ladies. a new week has arrived. and a new month is soon to follow.

Both are such pretty looks. Stores are full of the bell-sleeve tops and dresses right now, aren’t they! The top looks equally pretty with the ruffled skirt as with the jeans. I’m not sure I’d have combined that top with that skirt, but it’s perfect! Lovely.
the statement sleeve doesn’t seem to be disapating any time soon. and i can be kind of ho hum about the whole trend but the embroidered sleeves caught my attention. subtle but a statement nonetheless. hope you enjoyed your weekend!

I love both looks but the one jeans stole my heart <3. This blouse is simply gorgeous!
you would look lovely in this blouse, renata! the embroidered sleeves just steal the show on this one.
