what is the best part about blogging? why the people you meet along the way. if i’ve said it once, i’ve said it a thousand times, but it’s true. case in point, yesterday when i had the distinct pleasure of zipping up to buford to have lunch with a charming woman. most likely, our paths would never have intersected except for the blog. but now i feel as if i have a new friend!
and what did i wear? since the temps have been delightful, and the sun finally made an appearance, i chose a classic summer staple – a white skirt. this particular one has been hanging around for several years due to the details that give it a little extra something. like grommets fastened at the pockets, kick pleats, and navy blue stitching around the hem and pleats. i kept the look old school by adding a gingham button down and white cardigan. then added silver metallic flats and belt for a modern twist. add a wicker handbag, and it’s off to lunch i go!
when was the last time you met someone new? do you find it easier or harder to meet new people as we age? do you think it’s important to add new friends to your roster?

Morning Girlfriend- Not harder to meet new people but increasingly harder to have a connection with others as we define our collective interests. I also like to have time for the effort to maintain a good friendship. It does not always have to be in person…but catching up on a regular basis is essential.-Laurel Bledsoe
hey GF! wise words about maintaining friendships. it’s so important to make the time and effort for friends. it’s so easy to get caught up in our day-to-day lives it’s all too easy to omit the little things that make a friendship work. something as simple as a phone call to say ‘hey.’

How lovely that you both had the opportunity to meet! I have met people from my online relationships before, and I always sort of feel like I’m “walking into a photo” or something–it’s surreal in a way. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Love the white and gingham together–the kicky skirt is fabulous!
I used to think of myself as shy, but the older I get I realize I’m not shy at all–and I basically love meeting new people. Every single person has a story, and I feel fortunate to learn about any of them.
staying fabulous as always Beth! 🙂

There you are with that great gingham again. Love, love it!
i always love to pull out the gingham once spring arrives. i suppose it should remind me of dorothy’s infamous dress and steer clear of it. but it’s such a classic in my eyes i can’t resist! i feel the same way about red shoes.
