happy fourth of july, gang! all of my kiddos are in town so we’re headed to a parade later today, barbecue then fireworks. but after the festivities, we’re looking forward to dessert and refreshments at home along with sparklers. when time is of the essence i’m all about taking a shortcut. so i’m sharing an easy to make fourth of july dessert with y’all.
today’s ootd has already been seen on the blog here. this striped shirtdress came along with me on our Panama City Beach trip. but i knew from the get-go this lighter than air dress would be perfect for the fourth of july. just add red shoes or sandals for a completely red, white, and blue outfit that’s patriotic yet chic. the dress and sandals are old but i’ve linked similar dresses and sandals below.
i can never decide if hydrangeas or peonies are my favorite flower. it’s a toss-up. but flowers are a must for a perfect tablescape. add a flag to set the tone for the fourth of july.
each year i look forward to lighting the sparklers.
want an easy to make fourth of july dessert? simply purchase an angel food cake from your local bakery. pick up your favorite fruits. then build your own strawberry or blueberry shortcake. don’t forget the whipped cream. since i’m short on time the whipped cream comes in a can.
every holiday needs a special dessert. an easy to make fourth of july dessert includes fresh fruit and angel food cake.
patriotic paper goods set the mood for the fourth of july.
the fourth of july is not only a fun holiday with lots of summer activities built in but it’s a meaningful holiday to boot. america’s independence came at a great price.
strawberries, blueberries, angel food cake, and whipped cream. yes, please!
bottled beverages are the way to go whenever guests come over.
if we’re serving an easy to make fourth of july dessert then it’s time to get on the red, white, and blue!
don’t forget the watermelon which is plentiful and delicious this time of year!
another time saver and easy to make fourth of july dessert is serving premade brownie bites. my kiddos will gobble these down in no time flat.
wishing you and yours a very happy and safe fourth of july!
