well, i’m certain we all know this, but there are only twenty-five days until christmas! how did that happen? i know i say this every year but, seriously, where did this year disappear? but i do love this time of year with the scent of cinnamon in the air and lights glistening on the tree. the halls here in athens are three-quarters of the way decked. our latest addition to the family, ollie, is fascinated with the christmas tree, so we’ve decided to leave the ornaments off for the time being… so far she’s been quite helpful knocking ribbon off the table and chasing after cranberries. the look on oscar’s face is priceless. it’s a mix between “how come she gets to climb on the table?” and “why isn’t she getting into trouble?”
homemade cookies are on my to-do list this week, so the drum is beating as we march into the final weeks of christmas. to keep my festive spirit alive, i’m wearing a plaid puffer vest and cheerful red cashmere sweater. if you’re headed off to a cookie exchange, office party, or any other casual daytime soiree why not add some glitter with a sparkly pair of pants? the addition of gray flannel embroidered shoes keeps this ootd looking low key but merry and bright. even oscar approves.
yup, we’re getting into the christmas spirit slowly but surely. now all the mantel needs are garland and a few christmas stockings.
’tis the season to be jolly y’all! oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend!

Have a beautiful weekend. I’ll be following you with doing baking this weekend, too–I don’t eat the sweets any more, but I bring them in to the office. You look festive and ready for the holidays. I told a family member about Oscar’s thundershirt–their dog turns into a quivering little guy when he has to go on a car ride. I hope it might work for this little one. Thanks for the tip!
You & Oscar look great in your vests! One of our dogs is very sound-sensitive, so he wears a Thundershirt too.
