can you believe it’s march, ladies?! in a few short weeks spring will officially be on its way. and with it warmer weather. last week our georgia temps flirted with summer. i’ll take it! bear with me northern gals as today’s post dips one toe into spring fashion.
before we zipped off to california mr. style and i made a mad dash down to atlanta to run a few errands. one of our favorite shopping venues is avalon a fabulous mix-use community located in alpharetta. yesterday, many of you commented on stanford shopping mall in palo alto. avalon is the same sort of shopping experience. here you will find easy access to stores and restaurants nestled along sleepy boulevards. if you are in the mood to wine, dine, and shop then avalon is your go-to place. and one, okay maybe two, of my favorite home design stores has opened their doors here. yes, i’m a sucker for crate and barrel, pottery barn, and williams sonoma. what can is say? they just get me! in more ways than one.
chinos | tee | similar cardigan | sandals | similar handbag
lately, Boden is getting all of my love. their spring collection has one piece better than the other. and their color schemes are to-die-for. like these light blue chinos. i will point out that the fit of these pants is divine with a little stretch added to the waistband. since today’s ootd is all about casual ease out came a graphic tee with a new york city motif that’s perfect all spring/summer long. a season or two ago J.Crew carried a tee collection highlighting the fashion capitals of the world – Paris, London, NYC, and Rome. if you missed it now you can snag one of these tees from J.Crew Factory. even though the temps were warm i added a lightweight italian cashmere cardigan similar here as a third piece. and i’m happy i did. last but not least, i put Boden’s brianna suede slides to the test. so far so good.
happy thursday, ladies! let’s see if we can’t put a smile on someone’s face today, including ours.

Oh, I’m a big Boden fan. They often have really nice details and unique touches to their clothes.
Great springy color here. I like those chinos, too–they look comfy. Enjoy this warm weather! We have camellias and daffodils blooming and redbud trees and Bradford pears are blooming everywhere. Spring is on its way–this is why I like living in NC.
thank goodness we live in the South, sue! our bradford pears are in full bloom too. they’re leading the way for blooms and more blooms. i’m ready!

The ladies of Illinois are ready for you to “Bring in Spring”. Can’t get enough of those lovely, hopeful, colors!

Hi Beth! I just found your blog today, via Amanda Tress. I’m on my second round of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss and love it! Anyhoo! I am also in the process of considering/researching/thinking about beginning a style blog myself, and I’ve really enjoyed perusing yours! You do a great job here. And I love your style. A couple of things… I, too, love the Avalon in Alpharetta. I live in Arizona, but my son lived in Alpharetta until just recently, and I shopped there several times with my daughter, who still lives in Georgia. Also, I went to school at UGA and absolutely LOVE Athens. You lucky Dawg! Living there and all… Well, anyhow, I subscribed to your blog and look forward to learning from you and watching your style! So nice to meet you!!!
hi kay! welcome to the blog. i too started my second round of FASTer way to Fat Loss. this program has helped me tune back in to healthy and nutritious food choices. and, of course, reinforces how exercise goes hand in hand with what we eat. Amanda Tress has done a fabulous job with this program. it’s comprehensive and it works!
if you ever have any questions about running a style blog feel free to email. i’m still learning and growing but having a ball with the blog as we grow together. isn’t it great there’s no expiration date on style or learning new skills?

Thanks for the heads up, Beth, on the adorable J. Crew vintage city T Shirts! Thanks to you, I was able to order the grey “London” one for myself, and the cute “San Fransisco” one for my son’s girlfriend’s birthday. I wouldn’t have known about them otherwise – love your style and your blog 😃❤️
