the skies are dreary, and the rain has arrived ahead of hurricane michael that’s said to be headed our direction tomorrow morning. it looks as if atlanta will dodge the storm. fingers crossed our plane will be on time ‘cuz my bags are packed for our trip to NYC. i’ll share my packing list in tomorrow’s post.
last night was book club with my local group. we read Night Train to Lisbon by Pascal Mercier. this is a very dense book that was a challenge for each of us to wade through. but as several of my book club members discovered the book was made into a movie starring jeremy irons, and they used that as their reference point instead of cliff notes. brilliant! next month’s selection is The Wife by Meg Wolitzer which was also adapted into a movie starring glenn close. book club with Style is reading Trust Me by Hank Phillippi Ryan who will be hosting the discussion on November 12th.
sometimes all an outfit needs for a little pizazz is the addition of great accessories. a silk scarf, a suede handbag in pomegranate, and pink lipstick are all that’s needed to elevate this ootd from drab to fab. but the leather moto jacket similar here gives this outfit the edge it needs to stay modern and fresh. and it’s the perfect jacket for this time of year – not to hot and not too cold. it transitions the seasons with ease.

Stay safe!
Chic look. Black with a pop of color always works. I head to see my surgeon the day Michael is supposed to pummel this area, so it figures I’ll be hobbling in with rain to accompany me! haaaaa. Hope the hurricane dissipates more than they’ve anticipated, and also moves quickly through–I had thought we were all safe from another one, after Florence, but it wasn’t meant to be. Deja vu all over again!
Safe travels–I’ll cross fingers that your flight gets out of town beforehand.
have a safe trip and hope all is well. Those dreaded hurricanes across the world. Black and colour is always a winner so simple and chic. Enjoy your visit to NY
