there’s something special about suede. my love affair with this fabric dates back to my teenage years. and my very first suede jacket that was a hand me down from my mother. it was gorgeous. the color was vicuna. the suede buttery smooth. it buttoned to the collar had patch pockets and in my estimation was ‘it.’ who cared if the lining was tattered. it didn’t matter that there was a stain or two on the sleeves. it was my dream coat that first belonged to my mother – my style icon. i wore that dang jacket all through high school, university and well into my twenties. mostly paired with blue jeans. oh sure, suede jackets go with just about everything. but suede and denim? perfection.
so today’s ootd couldn’t get any better right? that is until i added suede boots then went old school by tucking my jeans inside. this look is casual chic through, and through just the way i like it. with our temps hovering in the forties a turtleneck seemed like the perfect choice. the feminine ruffle collar balances the masculine vibe as does the necklace. but the pièce de résistance is the flap crossbody bag. a casual outfit needs a casual handbag. and this one does the trick.

all-in-all i’d say this outfit is in the books. and i’m out the door today headed to the apple store. yes, my battery replacement finally arrived. thank goodness! happy tuesday, gang.

I’ve have always loved, loved, loved suede! So happy that suede is season less, just ordered 2 pair of sandals for spring…great post!
If you only wanted to use one bag everyday what would you recommend?
I searched and searched for this suede jacket in my size when it was out, and I finally found it in a size larger than my normal, in a store when they had a fabulous sale–started out at like $400 and I got it for less than $100 in the final analysis, so I love it even more now–I wear it a lot–so timeless. And I’m actually glad I got it a tad bigger–it’s so comfy.
