as you can see i’m still mad for plaid. tartan plaid that is. there’s something so festive and christmasy about this traditional pattern it’s impossible not to reach for it at least once during the holiday season. last friday i tucked this plaid shirt underneath a green sweater. today, it’s paired with black which is a great way to tone down this powerful pattern.
the cookie exchange is tonight. it seems no matter how much i prep in advance there’s always last minute errands to run. so i’m keeping it casual with a tartan plaid shirt, cropped ankle pants, and the cutest tartan plaid flats capped with velvet. a cashmere cardigan is tossed over my shoulders in case it gets chilly.

Love it! I’m a plaid/tartan fan myself.
i’m always mad for plaid as they say. there’s something so festive about tartan plaid that it’s bound to find its way into my wardrobe this time of year. xo
I have had my eye on those shoes, too. Have been trying to decide if I should go ahead and get them or wait for next year when my knees are done. I don’t know how my shoe needs will change. ;(
I love that Talbots has done the plaid gloves this year–they’re really attractive. This is a festive, easy look. Well done! Eat some cookies for me!
you will love these shoes, sue! they are festive and fun without being too over the top. it might be wise to wait until after your knee surgeries. i think you might be feeling like a whole new person once you’ve recuperated. xo
I love the plaid shoes and your black coat.
aren’t these plaid shoes adorable, cindi?! just what the holidays need. xo
