remember the days when retail stores only held two or three major sales per year? am i dating myself? absolutely! but back in the day, we waited impatiently for two big sale days: after-Christmas and Fourth-of-July. these days, i can’t keep up with all of the sales thrown our way. it’s just one perpetual sale all year long for many retailers. but there are two brands i love that still hold two major sales per year. can you guess? nordstroms anniversary sale will soon be knocking on our door – can’t wait for july. and talbots red hangar sale that started today! hooray. to celebrate, i just had to don my talbots duds that can be purchased for a song. aren’t they just darn cute?! i’ve had my eye on this particular skirt since it hit the stores. it’s perfect for day-to-day errands (i’m still working on my porch project, then there’s a bathroom, and…. well, stay tuned). plus, my wheels are up as i’m off on another road trip to nyc this weekend to visit one of my kiddos. and i think this skirt just might have to come along as it’s super comfy with a hint of stretch. today, i’ve paired it with a button tee for a casual look. but i can see it with a button-down if i were aiming for polished. yellow slingbacks last seen here, and a straw clutch last seen here are great summer accessories to have on hand. i reach for these time and again as they are classics that stand the test of time. now i’m off and running with an ootd that will keep me cool and chic. i just might have to bop into talbots red hangar sale (again). who knows what i’ll find this time.

love this on you…great colors! have a safe trip…have loads of fun… xoxo
This is beautiful. And I am ordering it TODAY! 🙂
Beth this looks fabulous! But I have to ask about your belt. I look at it and think, as soon as I started to walk, that would slip up on me without loops on the skirt to hold it in place (or maybe, with loops, it would pull the skirt up with it). Any tricks to keep belts from riding up? Thanks!
Just LOVE the daily inspiration here.
Beth, I just Love the skirt…so much that I bought it a month ago and wore it this past weekend when my daughter got engaged. I paired it with a white teeth and yellow Tory Burch sandals…good to know I got it right….thanks so much for your great ideas!!!
What a cute outfit! love it and the blue looks so pretty on you. The yellow shoes are the perfect little bit of color. I wonder if that green polka sweater is on sale??? I loved that thing!
