what to wear on a rainy day

have you ever wondered what to wear on a rainy day? here in georgia, there’s rain and more rain in our forecast. some rainy days, i’m lucky enough to curl up with a good book. never venturing outside. other rainy days, it’s time to throw on some rain gear to schlep around town. that’s when i reach for Hunter high gloss waterproof boots in bright red. in recent years so many brands jumped into the rain boot game. but my heart belongs to Hunter a British heritage brand established in 1856 by American entrepreneur Henry Lee Norris. it wasn’t until 1956 that the original green wellington was created. but in 1981 Hunter boots soared into popularity after lady diana spencer was photographed wearing a pair. today the name has been shortened to original and comes in a variety of colors. 

a yellow raincoat matches perfectly with red rain boots. vintage straight jeans from J.Crew are tucked neatly inside. since the temps were downright cold, i grabbed a cashmere turtleneck to keep warm and added a polka dot scarf for good measure. the scarf has pops of red and pink. perfect for a gloomy day.
