wheels up, as i’m off and running to minneapolis today. okay, flying. a carry-on is the only piece of luggage i need as i’m traveling light for a business trip. in case you’re curious here’s what’s inside my 21″ spinners that fits easily into the overhead bin: 1 silk blouse, 1 tee, 1 white denim, 1 floral short, 1 nightgown, 1 pair of loafers, 1 pair of sandals. and, of course, my essentials: skincare and makeup. my travel outfit is also factored into the mix which consists of 1 cashmere sweater to keep me warm in the frigid airport. typically i throw on a cashmere wrap. but i’ve switched gears this trip. i’m loving the slouchy, chic cut of the sweater. and the cashmere is top-notch quality. underneath the sweater is a cute scalloped cami that peeks out from beneath the deep v-neck. 1 pair of boyfriend jeans that can stand up to the dirt and grime that’s a constant companion of airline travels. 1 pair of slip-on flats. and 1 oversized tote that i can tuck a book or a magazine into with ease. if you’re interested in catching behind the scenes footage of my trip follow me on snapchat at styleatacertain:
here’s a peek at my last roadtrip to nyc. this was a visit with one of my kiddos. this snapchat has been downloaded into one full length feature. the premise is that each snap is only ten seconds long. then if you choose, you can string snippets of a story together or let the snap stand alone. each snap has a shelf life of twenty-four hours then disappears, unless you download it to use elsewhere as i’ve done today to share on the blog. as you can see from my nyc story, there are a variety of filters provided by snapchat for lots of fun and giggles. i’m loving it over there so come join me!

perfect outfit for travelling! xoxo
that cashmere sweater was a life saver! it was freezing per the norm at the airport and even colder on the plane.

Oh wow!!! Your son lives on Sesame Street! I love the garden space. It is so neat and clean and urban! 🙂 gwingal
hi nikki!
oh i love the comparison! it does look like sesame street. didn’t his garden turn out well? he is quite proud of it as well he should be. it’s waiting for all sorts of summer shenigans.

Great garden! Your son’s going to be a fabulous cook too, with his kitchen garden herbs right there, ripe for the picking. I see a mean pesto in his future.
Safe travels–as someone who’s in and out of airports all over creation all the time, I can relate to the packing and simple airport wear. I love a classic v-neck sweater. You may need it in Minneapolis, too. I once went in September and had to buy a winter pea coat as it was already snowing. I’d brought a blazer, but wound up running out to buy a coat and gloves! Between MN and Colorado, lots of craziness in the weather.
Have fun!
isn’t the nyc garden adorable? andrew has worked hard to get it whipped into shape for all those summer bbq’s he’s planning.
and it’s always a good idea to bring along an extra layer or two. you never know when you’ll need it. especially in those tricky regions like mn and co. i remember one memorable minnesota 4th of july spent in layers of sweatpants and sweatshirts…

very cute travel outfit and I love the bag! Safe journeys! PS—Loved the festive fourth of july outfit in the previous post…..very cute
hi debbi!
thanks for stopping by! i particularly liked this tote because it has texture to it as well as stripes. and it’s just the right size for a travel tote. hope you’re enjoying the long summer days!
