summer fun has just begun. and i am going to soak up every minute! there’s something magical about this time of year. don’t you just love having daylight linger until the clock strikes nine? of course, shorts and tees are always spot on for those hot summer days that loom endlessly ahead. but don’t forget the power of a denim skirt. or to be more specific a white denim skirt. there are different styles and lengths available from the classic five pocket skirt to button front skirts. and since it’s white there are endless styling options available.
today, i chose a classic color combo – the mighty black and white that’s always right any time of year. but i think it looks particularly crisp and clean for summer. and there’s nothing quite like a crisp cotton shirt. if you ever wonder how to jazz up a white shirt blazers and cardigans add that little extra something. but today i reached for a knit shell (old similar here) to add pizazz to an otherwise ho-hum outfit. knit shells are a closet staple that looks great tucked underneath blazers. but they can shine on their own when worn as a vest. who doesn’t want versatility when it comes to their wardrobe?

black accessories reinforce the color scheme. a hobo handbag (old, similar here and here) gives the outfit a casual touch.

it’s wednesday, gang! we’re halfway through the week. and we’re marching directly into june! yes, the merry old month of may is fast drawing to a close. it’s hard not to smile this time of year. but let’s not forget to put a smile on someone’s face today, including our own.

Hi Beth. Oh I love my denim skirts, I have a few different colours and I took a couple to Florida with me, I find them so comfortable, I practically lived in them on holiday. Unfortunately after being back in England just over four weeks I’ve only been able to wear my denim skirt once as our temperatures are terrible, today is only 50 degrees 😯 so it’s the next best thing my cream jeans. I love the shoes you are wearing too. The whole outfit is fab it really pops. Please send some warm weather over please. Xoxo
