all aboard monday morning. it’s time to board the style train thanks to my spiffy yellow gingham slingbacks from J.Crew. i’m always on the hunt for shoes with a little special something. and these shoes fit the bill. size up half a size as they do run small. pointy-toe flats are a staple in my closet as they go with everything from blue jeans to dresses. but when they’re yellow gingham slingbacks? well, i’m certain to have a smile on my face thanks to their sunny disposition. for those of us who shy away from color, a vibrant shoe is an easy way to experiment with colors besides our beloved neutrals.
it’s hard to believe these yellow gingham slingbacks match perfectly with a brand new pair of denim from Ann Taylor. these jeans are performance stretch cut skinny jeans that are soft and comfy thanks to the addition of modal and tencel. it has a flattering fit that’s lean through the hip and thigh. and while these jeans move with you, they don’t stretch out and bag. that’s a win/win. i’m wearing a size 8 and they fit true to size.
a cotton popover (old similar here) from J.Crew is last year’s rendition. but there are similar styles available. this blouse is one of my all-time favorites thanks to an easy fit, high lo hem, and of course, it’s cotton, which means it breaths in the hot weather.

Such a fun post! Just loving the polished casual vibe of the look and the background colors are adding so much life to the photos. You look cool and trim!
Love the jeans. Sadly they only come in tall (my size) in blue or white.
Wonderful color
I love your polished look. It’s casual yet sophisticated! The shoes are both stylish and comfy.
Just what our age group needs.
I’ve noticed the way you usually try to match background colors of your photo settings with the colors of your ootds. Today you’ve outdone yourself! Well done. It’s details like this that make your blog stand out from so many fashion blogs. Plus, I love the train setting. Very unique and reminds me of my Dad who was a train enthusiast. Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence. It shows. We notice.
Love, love, love the gingham shoes! You look great, they match back to the pants perfectly! Would be great with navy slacks and a yellow top!
I am a regular viewer of your post. Sadly, by the time I looked at this, very few sizes were available. The pants were available in sizes 00 to 2 — definatley not a size for the vibrant woman of today. Wish I could have ordered the outfit.

Oh, the shoes are fabulous with it. And I agree–you and Mr Style put such effort into choosing lovely settings for your posts. We do notice and appreciate all your work–looks fabulous. If I hadn’t already purchased a pair of yellow and white polkadot slingbacks from Boden a year or so ago, I’d be all over those shoes. I have to use these first!
Gingham is a check. The shoes she is wearing are a stripe.
