besides black and white, camel and white is a favorite color combo of mine. camel falls under the brown family and is considered a neutral. the name refers to the color of the coat camels have. it’s more unique than other neutrals like black, white, or grey but just as easy to pair with navy, black, or green. it’s also a great color for all seasons. one to reach for when you transition from summer to fall. come winter, and a camel coat is considered a classic. it also adds a touch of warmth on a cold, gray day. besides camel and white as a soothing color combo, i love camel with a pop of red for a bold statement or camel and black for a touch of elegance. it also looks fabulous with gold or tortoise accessories or a pair of dark rinse skinny jeans. wear camel to the office or wear it on the weekend. go bold with leopard accessories, or play it cool with neutrals. the choice is yours.
hooray, i’m off to the beach today. follow along on Instagram Stories to see what i’m up to – mostly lounging on the beach. it’s sure to be a fun and relaxing weekend. what’s better than beach time, pool time with a few good meals thrown in for good measure?! most likely, we’ll stay on Tybee for the entire weekend, but i’m always thrilled to know Savannah is a hop, skip and jump away if we’re craving city life. i just might have to make a stop when i head back home on Monday for a little in-store shopping.
today’s ootd is summer chic at its best. nothing fussy it’s simplicity in motion. white denim shorts from Ralph Lauren is paired with a sleeveless shell (similar here, here, and here) from Ann Taylor. platform sandals add a modern edge, but a classic handbag (similar here and here) from Coach adds a polished look. the accessories are pared down as this outfit is clean, simple, and minimalistic.

That is my kind of outfit! Looks terrific!
I love camel. My trench coat which is also a raincoat, is one of my favorite pieces. I just bought a leopard print rain hat to go with it. You look picture perfect.
Very pretty neutrals, the sandals and Coach purse really pull the whole combination together.
It looks very nice on you.
Have a nice day
Yes, summer is still with us — it’s hot here, and I’m in RI. And, I am wearing a very light white blouse with khaki shorts, so I guess I fit your color scheme. (I wish I were on vacation, but I do have an ocean practically in my backyard.) As usual, you look put together, although I was waiting for the pop of red — maybe in a beachy-type tote? Not that I have one, but I have some colorful canvas and cotton bags. Thanks for sharing
Cool, calming, classic. Perfect for a hot summer day. (95 degrees here in NJ – pool felt heavenly.) Love each piece of this outfit: the knee-length shorts, the extended armhole on the shell, the lug sole sandals and the leopard accent. Your beach stay sounds so very pleasant – I’d like to beam myself to the shore right this minute. It’s so delightful to sleep at night with the sound of the waves crashing and the smell of the salt air! Love the seabirds too. Enjoy.
Always gorgeous!
Beth, you look wonderful in this outfit, like it was made specifically for you! As much as I like black and white, I really like this color combination – it looks so much cooler for summer’s heat.
Hi Beth – love your blog – thank you for doing what you do. I love camel but I really suit cooler tones – do you have any advice for how I could still incorporate it into my outfits? Thanks so much in advance.
