it’s great to live in a college town. of course, there’s unlimited opportunity to watch your favorite sport. football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, wrestling are just the tip of the iceberg. then you can double up as there are a men’s team and women’s team for several sports. the choices are endless year-round.
but i would be remiss if i didn’t mention most universities have a thriving performing art community that features concerts, plays, recitals. last night mr. style and i threw on some duds to catch a performance of sleeping beauty composed by Tchaikovsky and performed by the State Ballet Theater of Russia.

dresses are perfect when it comes to special events. plus, you’re one and done! but today was a busy day so with a switcheroo or two i think i managed to get the job done. outfit-wise that is. like adding some sparkle with an applique sweater over this darling houndstooth skirt. and a classic peacoat that comes in handy this time of year. love how it can be dressed up with the addition of a silk scarf. or dressed down with knit. guess what, ladies? i’m wearing tights! once in a blue moon this girl goes all out with the addition of hosiery. my favorite brands are wolford or commando. today i’m wearing a budget-friendly pair from talbots.
all right gang. are you ready for thursday? it’s here so let’s make it a good one!

In addition to your great outfit and a cool outing, I love the “date night” reference. I love getting dressed up to “do” date night. We aren’t too old to keep romance alive, right?!
there is no expiration date on style or romance!

Loved this outfit! Also, being a music person, I really appreciate any mention of any performing art! Looking good IS an art!
it is indeed!

I love this outfit! So chic and yet smart casual. And the peacoat stole my heart because of its wonderful pink lining. Well, it seems that a peacoat is on my list now:). Have a great day Beth! xo
you won’t be sorry you added a peacoat into your winter wardrobe.
happy new year, renata!

That pop of yellow and the fun embellishment on the sweater are so eye-catching. And who can resist houndstooth? Not I!
houndstooth print always catches my eye! loved the gold buttons on this skirt and the kick pleats. perfectly preppy. just the way i like it.
