today’s ootn was included in my post ‘what to pack for florida.‘ for whatever reason, we ran out of time on our trip to squeeze in a photography shoot. but this outfit was too dang cute not to share with you. it’s an easy breezy look that stars a fun and flirty top in cobalt blue. pair this pleated blouse with slim cigarette pants similar here for a night on the town. there’s nothing complicated, nothing fancy about this ootn. all that’s needed is the addition of statement earrings and a bangle (or two) to give it some oomph. pile on the bling if you’re so inclined it definitely adds character to a date night outfit. sometimes, less is more and sometimes more is more. am i right?! for me, i took a middle of the road stance as i wanted the pleated top to take center stage.
blue and black stripe sandals similar here are the perfect addition to this ootn as is a plain black clutch similar here. just don’t forget a bold lip. my latest obsession is tom ford exotica which is the perfect pop of pink! all-in-all we’re ready to get this party started.
blue and black are one of my favorite fall color combos. now that my living room is decorated with blue furniture with pops of black i think i love this dynamic duo even more.
shoes can make or break an outfit.
accessories always add a little one-two punch to an outfit.

You are lucky you can still wear heels. After too many years of heels and pointy toe shoes..alas..for me no longer. I suspect many of us have the same predicament. Lower stacked shoes or wedges are my norm now……
i am one lucky girl that i don’t have issues with my feet. and i still love to trot out heels on special occasions. it seems the split is 50/50 for the over 50 woman. half of us can still rock heels and half of us go for a stacked heel. did you by chance notice the block heel sandal i linked to today’s ootd. now that’s a heel any of us can wear. xo
I love your use of beautiful accessories. I have heard “stylists” warn against overdoing accessories, even suggesting taking one last look in the mirror and then removing one item. I love accessories but always worry about overdoing it. Do you have guidelines you follow when accessorising?
there’s lot’s of style advice out there as far as accessories go. but honestly, if you feel like piling on the gemstones like coco chanel used to do then go for it. the only one you have to please is yourself. xo
What a pretty color in the top and shoes! Looks like a beautiful mix for a transitional piece.
isn’t this cobalt blue a brilliant shade? that’ll perk your day up in no time. xo
