today, style is on the road again. and for those of you who ask ‘what to wear to a business dinner?’ this post is for you. when i travel i try to pack clothes that don’t take up space or wrinkle. so i look for clothes made from crepe or jersey. you can’t go wrong with either fabric. this a-line dress is made out of crepe and is a dream to wear. it may be a tad boring, but the bell sleeves help give it a modern edge. and we all know we need a simple understated dress hanging in our closets as it will work for so many occasions.

typically, when i dine out, i bring along a wrap. you just never know what the restaurant temps will be. and there’s nothing worse than shivering through three courses. yes, sometimes i break down and indulge in dessert… and this shocking pink cashmere shawl gis a beautiful contrast with navy blue. i played it safe with a pair of suede block heels. but i added a gold handbag for a little extra oomph. all-in-all this outfit is ready to get down to business.

labels: dress Ralph Lauren (similar here without the bell sleeves); shoes Marc Fisher; cashmere shawl (old, similar here and here); handbag Prada (similar here and here); lipstick Lana

Such a simple dress but elegant. and the scarf dramatizes it–just lovely! You look great in it. I agree on packing for trips–things that don’t need ironing are essential–and this is a classic look.

    Have a good trip!

    1. in most cases, i think that less is more. and a simple dress like this always reaffirms my motto.
i should ask you for packing tips. but i bet you pack a lot of jersey or knits. am i right?
      xoxo

Navy has been a favorite of mine for at least the past year and this dress is no exception! Those sleeves! So classy looking. And of course your scarf wrap is a total smack in the face.
In a good way of course. 🙂

First, I want to tell you how much I like your blog and your sense of style. I just wanted to mention that often times, when using the Chrome Browser your images will not show up. Not always but enough that I thought as the editor you would want to know. Because I don’t want to miss anything 🙂 I copy and paste the URL into Firefox and alas! they show. Not sure if there is anything you can do on your end or not, but once again, I thought you might find this information useful. Thanks for sharing through your blog.
