every good getaway should include one special evening. you know the one, it typically revolves around a fine dining experience where reservations require a lead-time of weeks (maybe months). perhaps due to the fact, the chef earned an award or two like the james beard award for ‘best chef.’ or the restaurant made it to a ‘restaurant of the year’ list. but it might just be a trifecta if a cookbook was penned by said chef and is a new york times bestseller. all things considered, you can see why mr. style and i donned some fancy duds and enjoyed an exquisite meal together at husk a restaurant known for its southern classics like fried chicken and grits, carolina catfish and heirloom peas. how about corn bread pudding or warm berry cobbler for dessert? ummm, yes, we ordered both. but when a chef has a culinary vision of new southern cuisine and sticks to his guns with fresh produce grown in the restaurant’s garden and zero in on heirloom grains and vegetables that once flourished in the lowcountry, well, it’s an honor to pay the bill.

as you can see from the photos, i came prepared to dine in a fun little dress that fit snugly around my neck and nowhere else. now that’s what i call a genius design! black sequin appliques add a little glam to this understated dress as do a pair of satin slingbacks. a crystal encrusted clutch is the pièce de résistance that carries all of my evening essentials in style. all-in-all, the evening was a night to remember and worth every calorie! there’s something so very special about sharing a meal with loved ones.

A farm (or garden) to table restaurant is such a good idea. I had to stop to look up the restaurant and check out the menu. You look fabulous for an evening out with Mr Style! xoxo

My husband is MR FINE DINING so I know he will make this a priority when we visit next month as well. Of course, my go to is a LBD but I do glam it up some with shoes, jewels and glasses. Travel light but chic!-Laurel Bledsoe
