Happy Thursday, Ladies! If it’s fall then it’s time for suede and faux suede. I love the look of suede, it’s so perfect for fall with its brushed texture and typically earth-toned hues. Suede is always in for fall, but this year, it seems it has hit a stride of popularity. Faux leather can be a dicey material; often the synthetic fabrics feel weird and fits can be unforgiving. I haven’t found this to be true with faux suede though. Faux suede clothing has a softer feel to it and the brushed exterior is easier to mimic, for an authentic look.
Today, Kelly shares how she's styling a Faux Suede Dress from Loft

Both Ann Taylor and Loft have versions of faux suede shift dresses; The AT version has long sleeves, while my version from Loft is sleeveless - making it a perfect transitional season dress.
Another reason I love the versatility of a sleeveless dress is that I can also wear a tissue turtleneck underneath. If you want to wear this dress over tights, be sure to wear a slip because the interior of the fabric will stick to your tights.
I am wearing the petite size 0 and it fits perfectly. It’s very comfortable, and I love the simple shift design; I can style it with a blazer, cardigan, or lady jacket.
This is just a simple dress in a fall-neutral color with so much styling potential. The brushed suede look gives any outfit combination great fall texture variety, perfect for mixing and matching with chunky cardigan sweaters. When the temps cool down, I plan to wear this dress with my Over-The-Knee Knit Boots from Vivaia and my Washed Leather Moto Jacket from Madewell.
I chose to mix my fall textures by wearing tall slouchy leather boots. The neutral sage color of the dress will go really well with darker footwear, but I wanted to keep my ensemble on the lighter side with my light camel boots. My boots are old, but there are similar styles in leather and suede: Similar Boots in Suede | Similar Boot in Leather | Similar Suede Boots
For a fun pop of color, I have my Mini Shopper Tote in orange, which is not available this season but the brown or black version is just as beautiful.
I went a little further with a pop of pattern, also from Loft, the Leopard Print Silk Square Scarf ties into my orange bag and my boots. It’s easy to add a little fall whimsy to your outfit by wearing a patterned scarf or tying it to your handbag as I have done.

Suede seems to be everywhere this fall! Kelly, I just wanted to tell you that the way you have been styling your hair lately is so complimentary to your face. You look lovely!
Thank you so much, Harriet! And you’re right, suede is everywhere this season. Thank you for stopping by, xo Kelly
Simply adorable, Kelly! And what a great color too 🙂
Thanks so much, Carolina Girl! I hope you and yours are all safe after the hurricane. xo Kelly
How thoughtful, Kelly, thank you! Yes, we are in Davidson (N.C. Piedmont area), but those in the N.C. mountains (including Asheville) are dealing with unprecedented devastation (perhaps besides the 1916 flooding). We’ve been sending food staples and love their way …
I love Kelly’s new look. The highlights and curls soften her look and she is sharing her million dollar smile in more photos. She looks like she is enjoying herself. We enjoy her!
Thanks so much, Kay! xo Kelly
