boot season is back, and i couldn’t be happier. it’s a favorite time of year for me. boots are fashionable, durable, trendy and classic. there are rain boots, hiking boots, over-the-knee boots, ankle boots, combat boots, chelsea boots, snow boots, booties, and riding boots. white and red are trending this year, but we’ll always have brown and black to fall back on. but i have to admit i have a soft spot for the timeless and classic riding boot. this boot has been in existence since the 10th century. riding boots were developed to make horseback riding more comfortable with several key design features in mind. the knee shaft protected the rider’s leg, a rigid toe was intended to protect their foot in case it was stepped on by a horse, and the sturdy heel helped keep the foot secure in the stirrup.
riding boots look fantastic with a variety of outfits. an all-time favorite is a blazer, blue jeans, and riding boots seen here and here. but today’s ootd is all about casual comfort with a pair of riding boots taking center stage and a darling snowflake sweater coming in a close second. ponte and faux leather leggings similar here is a match made in heaven when paired with a sweater. at the last minute, i added a puffer vest similar here and cobalt blue scarf to add interest to the outfit as well as a striped shirt similar here.

it’s nothing but gray skies and rain the next few days with chilly temps to boot! but i shan’t complain because i’ll trudge through those puddles in style. enjoy your day, ladies.

I remember when those boots came out–I almost purchased them and had remorse after I let them go by. They look terrific! Same weather here–I’ve been getting some good use of sweaters lately. Stay toasty!
