Happy Thursday! What should be at the top of your fall outfits must-have list? The answer is easy – the color red and plenty of leopard print! What better way to ease into cooler temperatures and shorter days, than to wear such a lively color and wild print. Double your fun and happy mood if you pair the two, like I am today. I am Falling for Red and Leopard Print!

It’s easier than you might think to pair this season’s most coveted print and color. I find it’s especially easy if one of your trending items is an accessory. The Delaney Kickout Sweater Pants in Candy Apple definitely make a statement! So I want to keep my top neutral and easy. A short sleeve polo sweater is right for the lingering warm temperatures, but come November, I will swap out the short sleeves for long, with the Cashmere Classic Fit Crewneck Sweater.
This polo sweater is no longer available but there are so many other options: try this short-sleeved polo, or this brushed cashmere sweater. You could also go for a cashmere cable knit tee. Even without the leopard print accessories, red and camel is a huge color combination trend for fall 2024.
The Delaney Kickout Sweater Pants from J.Crew come in petite sizes and I am wearing a Petite XS. The fit is form-fitting, with a wide elastic pull-on waistband. I love the kick flare, and the pintuck seam in the front. This is a style that has been trending for the last couple of years, and I love it! It’s so flattering for all body shapes.
The fabric is finely woven and it’s pretty thick, it feels more like Ponte rather than a traditional knit sweater, so the “sweater” part of the name is a bit of a misnomer. Nevertheless, these pants will be great all fall and winter – especially for the holidays!
For this ensemble, I wore a camel-colored sweater to tie in with the Desert Cat Print on my shoes and handbag. Recently I wore this exact outfit but I swapped the sweater for the Gamine Button Up Shirt in White, and it all worked perfectly well. Which is to say, these candy apple red pants and leopard print are versatile!
The Desert Cat print accessories are from Rothy’s – a brand I truly love and can’t get enough of! I love their graphic prints and geometric patterns. The Desert Cat print is one of their classic prints and the fact that it is a graphic print, rather than a more realistic interpretation, is what makes Desert Cat such an easy-to-wear print.

Kelly,
I love the outfit you are wearing today. Animal print has always been my favorite. But I really love your new haircut, highlights and curls. You look very modern. Will you tell us how you did the curls?
Thanks
Hi Maureen, I have to say first that I am not good at doing hair! My hair has some natural curl to it so I use a hair balm, then I basically scrunch it up while it’s wet and use a diffuser attachment on my hairdryer to dry the scrunched up natural curl. Then I use a curling iron to accentuate some of the curls. Pretty simple…never turns out the same way twice – LOL. I hope that answers your question! xo Kelly
The outfit is on trend and perfectly styled.
But what really caught my eye was your hair! You look amazing Kelly!!
Thank you so much, TLA! xo Kelly
Kelly your new hairstyle is a keeper! Cute, Cute!!
