Happy Thursday! Today I am sharing an item I ordered online from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the Vince Cotton Blend Cigarette Pants. These pants are great for fall and I love the deep brown color. I decided to show these pants as part of a transition outfit because it’s still so hot. But it gets my creativity going for when it’s chilly enough to wear long sleeves and sweaters with these pants. Plus, I love a wear-it-now, wear-it-later piece – so today, Get Ready For Fall Fashion with a transition outfit.
I know, we’ve been talking about it for what has seemed like the entire summer, but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends Sunday, so it’s worth checking it out one last time. It’s hard to shop for fall when it’s still so dang hot, but the kids are back in school (or headed there imminently), and I hope we’ve inspired you to create some great fall looks!

Plus, find more ways to wear the cigarette pants at the end of the post
As I mentioned, I love the cut and color of these Vince Pants. Vince is a luxury brand Beth and I have mentioned here a bit before. While I only come away with one or two Vince items during the Anniversary Sale, every piece I’ve purchased has been a great investment. With classic style and impeccable craftsmanship, all of my Vince clothes (and shoes) have proven their worth by lasting years, looking great, and wearing well.
I found a penny-wise alternative to the Vince Pants I am wearing, try Vince Camuto Straight Leg pants in Rich Chocolate. There are only a few sizes left, but they're a very similar alternate.
Sadly, no petite sizing with Vince. But items like pants are worth the price for hemming to a perfect-for-me length. I am wearing size 0. Even without hemming, these pants hit right at my ankles. So I could have left them alone, but I wanted a bit of a crop. Cigarette pants have always been my favorite pants style (personally I feel they never went out of style!), and I am glad to see they’re trending right now.
I couldn’t resist this beautiful rose print Shapely Top from Frances Valentine. This print is available, but only in sizes XL and 3X. If these sizes aren't for you, but you like the feminine style, it is still available in nearly all sizes in a print called Regatta Stripe.
My Small Duffle Metallic Croc-Embossed Handbag is also from Frances Valentine. I have finally added a metallic bag to my collection! I love the small size, yet roomy shape of this little handbag.
So then of course these gold Made in Italy Metallic Leather Sandals are the easy choice to finish off this transition outfit.

Both pants and blouse are beautiful. Together a gorgeous outfit. Love, love.
Thanks so much, Pat! xo Kelly
Love this summer into fall outfit, Kelly. Chocolate brown is one of my favorite colors.
Thanks, Kim; chocolate brown has endless possibilities! xo Kelly
Love, love, love this outfit on you Kelly.
One of your best yet…IMO.
I was considering the pants until I saw the price! I just don’t/can’t pay that much for pants, so not in my league and so disappointed. I’m sure they’re worth the price though with how nicely they fit.
Hi Nancy, Thank you so much! I appreciate your feelings on the expense of the Vince pants. Let me suggest an alternative: Vince Camuto Pants in Rich Chocolate
And I will update my post with the alternative pants. Thanks again! xo Kelly
You look terrific! Your outfit is spot on for now. I can’ t wait to see how you will this in the cooler months. I enjoy your posts and have learned a great deal.
