Look for shoppable curated collections of pieces in each category
Lightweight Sweaters. Opt for knitwear that provides warmth without being too heavy. Perfect for layering. I find that cashmere makes the perfect lightweight sweater. A neutral cashmere sweater is a versatile item that can elevate any outfit while also providing warmth and comfort. An investment in a high-quality cashmere sweater is definitely worth it, as it can last for years and become a staple in your wardrobe.
When choosing a cashmere sweater, opt for a neutral color such as beige, gray, or black. These shades can be easily mixed and matched with other items in your wardrobe, creating endless outfit possibilities. Be sure to choose a well-fitted cashmere sweater that flatters your body type and fits comfortably, without being too tight or too loose. Crewnecks, v-necks or a turtleneck are all classic silhouettes that stand the test of time so pick your favorite.
Cardigans. A long or cropped cardigan can add warmth and style while transitioning from warmer to cooler weather.
Layering Tees. Basic tees in various colors that can be worn alone or layered under sweaters and jackets.
Denim Jacket. A classic denim jacket can be layered over many outfits for day or night, and is perfect for mild weather. Don’t forget about a white denim jacket, it’s a great alternative to blue denim-on-denim looks.
Chic Blazer. A fitted blazer can elevate any outfit, making it suitable for both casual and more formal settings.
Classic Trench Coat. A lightweight trench coat is ideal for layering during unpredictable weather. This timeless staple is not only practical but also adds an element of sophistication to any outfit. The beauty of a trench coat is that it can be dressed up or down, making it the perfect item to take you from work to the weekend. Even if you live in a warm climate all year round I suggest keeping a trench coat on hand as you never know when a trip to a cold and rainy city might come up.
Midi Dresses. Dresses that can be worn with bare legs or paired with tights and boots as the temperature drops.
Versatile Skirt. A midi or maxi skirt that can be paired with different tops and layered as it gets cooler.
Versatile Trousers. Wide leg trousers can be dressed up or down and thanks to their voluminous legs, they work well in various temperatures.
Booties. A stylish pair of ankle boots can complement both summer and fall outfits.
Scarves. Lightweight scarves can add color and warmth without being too bulky.
Transitional Flats. Think sleek loafers, ballet flats, or sneakers that can work through different seasons. I think a ballet flat is the perfect transitional footwear – comfortable and appropriate for all kinds of occasions. They come in a variety of colors and textures, and can easily be dressed up or down easily. For those who prefer a bit more support, a loafer or mule can be a great alternative. Look for pairs with a rubber sole for extra grip and durability.
