One of my favorite color combinations for summer is navy and white. It’s classic, clean, and crisp. And it’s a great alternative to black and white which is always a safe bet. So, how to incorporate neutrals into your summer outfit? Blue is a primary color and is considered a neutral when putting a color palette or color scheme together. While navy and white is always all right there are so many other colors that go with navy which is why I choose to stock my wardrobe with navy basics. Think tees, pants, skirts, or shorts. Navy and hot pink are simply stunning together or try navy and yellow. A tonal monochromatic outfit with bright blue and navy looks smashing! During the winter months I love navy and black. Try it. You’ll like it!

Plus, more ways to style navy pants for summer
Today, I’m sporting my favorite pants from J.Mclaughlin - the Ivy Pant. If you are looking for comfortable yet stylish pants look no further. Honestly, the comfort factor that comes with these pants is priceless. And the fit can’t be beat.
I chose an ivory peplum top from Ann Taylor that hugs my frame and gives me ease of movement.
Style Tip: Peplum tops are perfect for Apple shapes as they give the illusion of a waist.
The charm sandals and crochet handbag from Talbots are back in action. I just love their whimsical attitude that suits a summer day.
And the starburst earrings from Tuckernuck add a little personality. All in all I’m ready for what comes my way today. Style is always about stepping out the door in confidence.

I bought my first pair of J. McLaughlin pants this past spring and I love them. I bought the Maisy pant in navy.
I agree with you about navy. I’ve been working black out of my closet and more navy in, and I have done just what you said; added more navy pants, shorts, skorts and tops. I even have a few navy maxi dresses and some patterned maxi’s with a navy background. I’ve added navy blazers and jackets too! Navy is just as versatile as black and I agree, I love it with yellow and pink. I also like to wear turquoise and aqua with navy.
Thanks, Beth … I concur with you and Nancy. And the ‘nauticalness’ of it during the summer makes it all the more ideal. And those white/orange charm sandals are so ADORABLE and flattering!!
