Vests are trending in a big way this year, from sweater vests last fall and winter to button-front suiting vests this spring and summer. Wearing a vest as a sleeveless top is everywhere right now, but you can also wear one over a tee or a blouse, if you want to don the trend but don’t want to wear it as a top. No matter which way you wear it, a vest is a classic style item that exudes sophistication. Madewell has several vests on their site, I have a few of them already! So today, I am (in)vested in Madewell Vests!

The Katrina Crop Vest is made to work as a top. But it can still work unbuttoned over a blouse or tee. Its Softdrape fabric is very soft and smooth. I am wearing a regular size 0, but if you are larger in the bust (I am 34B) you will want to size up.
The Katrina Crop Vest is available in 4 colors - all but the black version are on final sale, so unless you want to take a chance on a $20 or $30 vest, go for the black version (which is on sale for $55). Plus, there are many other Madewell Vests to choose from, it’s easy to find one to suit your style.
If it’s spring then it’s time to break out the chinos! The chinos I am wearing today are last year’s Authentic Chino Straight Pant from Banana Republic Factory, but there are great styles to choose from this year at a variety of our favorite retailers. See my chinos Boutique below for options from Talbots, Loft, Spanx, and more.
The Mid Rise Downtown Khakis from Gap are closest in style to what I am wearing today. But the current version of the Authentic Chino Straight Pant at BR Factory is on my list to buy because I love the slightly wider straight leg and the fun button details on the belt and hems.
