Thanks for the tips on lightweight sweaters, coats and jackets. Here in the northland it’s a particular challenge to dress for the weather in the shoulder seasons.

I’m always on the lookout for a stylish and non bulky coat or jacket with a removable liner that can get me through a season that can require a raincoat, windbreaker, or just a little bit of added warmth on any given day so that I don’t have to fill up my coat closet with multiple jackets.

If you run across some options, I’m sure my northern sisters would appreciate seeing them as much as I would.

    1. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment — I completely understand the challenge of dressing for the ever-changing weather in the northland! That in-between season really does call for smart layering and versatile outerwear.

I love the idea of featuring stylish, non-bulky coats with removable liners — and I’ll absolutely keep an eye out for great options that work for those of you navigating rain, wind, and surprise chills all in one week. Your northern sisters are officially on my radar! One of my favorite brands is Barbour that I share every chance I get! They always offer the best jackets for inclement weather.

Stay tuned — and thanks again for reading and taking the time to share what you’re looking for. ❤️

I like all the outfits you styled. However, number 1 has all the elements I love. If I could find that quilted jacket in the blues, I would have so many things to style it with. Love everything about this outfit, from the denim shoes to the Baroque pearl necklace.

    1. That quilted jacket was featured last month and sold out lickety split! It’s from Tommy Bahama. Maybe they’ll restock. There’s always hope!

Hi Beth: I enjoy your blog especially this one about layers!
I really liked the initial picture you posted with you wearing a short shirt jacket. However, you did give a link to it. Could you send that to me? I am planning a trip to Ireland this summer and that would be perfect!
    Thanks Sharon

    1. Hi Sharon! That shirt/jacket is featured in Tuesday’s post, too. But here is the link: https://rstyle.me/+nOgoXAFMVBRFnX1dI8rXZA
