there are certain wardrobe staples i keep on hand at all times. entire blog posts have been dedicated to my favorite classic essentials here and here. but when the list is whittled down to five or ten items, there are bound to be several items that are ignored like pinstripe pants or cap-toe pumps. when i cleaned my closet last week, i noticed pinstripes of any sort were missing. no pants, no skirt, no blazer, no nothing. so guess who decided to go shopping for pinstripes?
leave it to Ralph Lauren to have an iconic pair of pinstripe pants available as well as a skirt and blazer. the charcoal pinstripe pants were on sale plus an extra 40% off. guess what landed in my shopping cart? and i’m pleased as punch to put together a business casual ootd with said pinstripe pants. this is an easy look to pull together as the other components of the outfit are wardrobe basics i typically have on hand (they make the top ten list) white shirt, black blazer, and cap-toe pumps (similar here).

see how easy it is to pull an outfit together when you have the basics on hand? now all that’s left is to add accessories to give this business casual look some personality. men wear red power ties with a classic suit. i opt for red lipstick pirate by Chanel. a playful equestrian belt (similar here) keeps the outfit from looking too serious. pearls add classic chic.
add a structured black handbag (similar here) and this ootd is in the books.
