can you believe it’s april, ladies? march has come and gone (january and february too) in a blink. okay, the inclement weather seemed to drag on forever. but april has arrived, and i’m certain those showers aren’t far behind. who is ready for a new month? spring? how about monday? two out of three isn’t bad.
if you are a working stiff like me then you will love today’s nine-to-five ootd i scored at Dillard’s clearance rack last week. this skirt and top ensemble are by my all-time favorite designer Ralph Lauren. what i particularly like about a matching skirt and top is that they act as a dress for a no-fuss-no-muss look. but when pulled apart they are independent separates that can be mixed and matched with your wardrobe. that’s a win/win in my book.
similar skirt | similar top | similar shoes | similar handbag | similar belt | similar necklace | lip shade darling
many of you will be disappointed that this outfit isn’t shoppable. but it serves as a great example of shopping the clearance rack (you never know what you will find), the importance of separates (mixing and matching), and how simple a nine-to-five outfit can be. plus, i needed a cute ensemble to highlight this three string necklace my future daughter-in-law had given me for christmas. a special gift needs a special outfit. right?! exactly.
even corporate america has casual days where you can ease into the office in a dress. add a structured handbag and pumps for a polished look. but don’t forget a bold lip and manicured nails.
happy monday, and happy april!

As Meatloaf used to sing, two out of three ain’t bad!
