the mighty pencil skirt is a classic wardrobe staple. this beauty can dress up with heels and a blouse and take you to the office in style. or dress it down with a tee or sweater for a casual chic look as i’ve done today. a favorite style trick of mine ‘borrows from the boys’ where i pair a decidedly masculine item like this bomber jacket with a quintessential feminine piece like the iconic pencil skirt. a blouse would look fabulous with this ootd. instead, i chose a crewneck sweater for a simple but polished look.
when i shop for pencil skirts i look for details that will set it apart from the pack. like a fringe hem or slub fabric. and i love the versatility that the black and cream color scheme offers. today, the outfit is kept grounded with a black sweater, classic cap-toed pumps, and a boucle handbag. notice how i reinforced the gold necklace with the gold chain from the handbag? but take a look here for another rendition of this skirt. don’t you just love options?
we’re half way through the week. happy hump day!

Love the bag with that skirt. Such a minimalist but lovely look. “Effortless style.” How’s that?
hi sue! this is a super casual look with the bomber jacket that would look just as great with a pair of blue jeans. are you back on the road again? or do you get to enjoy being home for a bit?
