okay, who noticed i’ve been bingeing on black and red lately? not exactly sure why, but i’ve decided to go with the flow for the time being. especially since i’ve been dying to wear this cute cherry print popover last seen here. the color scheme is certain to brighten any winter day, although i’m happy to report the sun finally made a brief appearance. but believe me, there was a challenge or two today in the form of wind. a blustery kind of wind that tossed my hair to-and-fro for the duration of the photo shoot. mother nature is a force to be reckoned with that’s for sure! within minutes i gave up any and all attempts to keep my locks in place. otherwise, we would have been late for our dinner date and movie. c’est le vie. if you haven’t seen manchester by the sea – go. go as soon as you can. it is such a moving film and so well done. don’t forget to bring a tissue.
today, i’m wearing a pair of wide leg pants that are a dream to wear and are currently on-trend. the fit is perfect and the fabric soft – two factors that make a great pant. it’s a nice change of pace to wear a wider leg. and in my humble opinion, it’s a flattering fit on every shape and size.
recently, there have been so many requests on what lip shade i’m wearing that i’ll try to remember to include the specifics in the post. i’ve been sporting a few new shades by dior and laura mercier that seem to have resonated with you and i’m happy to share my resources.
labels: pants J.Crew; shirt J.Crew; cardigan J.Crew; handbag Prada (similar here and here); lipstick shade Tutti Frutti

The red and black are wonderful together. I agree–love the wide-leg pants. The top and sweater kind of tones down how bright the red is–and then the wider leg on the pants with the heels makes the legs go on forever. Always a good thing!
you will have to let me know your thoughts about this movie. every aspect was so well done from the acting to the story to, well, let me know.
i LOVE how you met your boyfriend! what a sweet story. mr. style and i are movie buffs and typically have one day a week set apart for the movie theater. i’ll watch just about anything — i may not like it, but i’ll give it a try.

I really love the wide leg pant! What a great look!
isn’t it nice to see all the different options available these days? and i am loving the sider legs.

Beautiful and really great to cheer you up when it is a grey and cold January day.
But I would not wear this to work as I work in a kindergarten. In this case I would prefer the outfit of January 3. 🙂
what a fun job you have! i can’t think of anything better than being around 5 year olds all day. although, i might be ready for a cocktail once five o’clock rolled around. they do have enquiring minds!

Wide leg pants are a nice change from leggings, jeggings and skinnies. A gorgeous and cheerful outfit for a gloomy day. xoxo
red does chase those winter blues away in no time! there’s snow in our forecast for the weekend so time to bundle up!
stay warm, my friend!
